Kier and Dev were still at the island the next day. It was like luxury. Everyone was nice, and cared for Kier's broken ankle despite having never met him before.

The duo absolutely loved it there, everything was so peaceful.

One of the fairies had given them a rope which they knew they would use later on.

Dev swam down the narrow rivers with Kier laying on his back. Kier clung to Dev while straddling him, hanging on for dear life. Dev didn't quite mind if Kier laid on his dorsals, it didn't bother him that much. Plus Dev wasn't going to force his best friend with a broken ankle to walk.

"Dev stop!" Kier exclaimed, sitting up quickly.

Dev stopped swimming and turned his head to look at Kier. Got off of Dev's back, holding the rope between his fingers and palms tightly.

Kier limped to a nearby tree which seemed to have a special kind of fruit in it. The fruit was a yellow-ish orange and glowed like the sun on the sky- only it was not as bright as the sun was.

Kier threw half of the rope over the tree and grabbed onto both sides, pulling himself up.

Dev watched with a soft smile, he adored how Kier was able to do so much despite the pain the was in. Dev was always kinda like a cheerleader for Kier- motivating him to keep going. And sometimes it was even the other way around.

Kier climbed up on one of the branches and started to grab all of the fruit he could get his hands and claws on.

"By the way, Dev.. did my spikes not hurt yesterday when you were hugging me from behind?" Kier asked while stuffing all of the fruit in his side pouches.

Dev shrugged and said, "No, I was avoiding them so they didn't hurt too much."

"Oh.. well can you help me get down? I don't want to break another ankle." Kier looked down at Dev who was already slithering out of the river to help Kier. Due to Dev being a sea serpent he was pretty damn tall when out of the water.

Dev slithered over and reached up enough for Kier to get in his arms like a baby.

"I need to pick you up more.. you look so cute like this~" Dev teased, holding Kier up in the air like simba.

"Oh shut up." Kier rolled his eyes and smiled, averting his gaze from Dev.

Dev chuckled and kissed Kier's forehead softly, and eventually he started to coat Kier's face in kisses. Kier began to giggle- he liked the kisses.. a lot. It was just a friend thing though, not like the two would ever have romantic feelings for each other.. just friends.

Dev sat Kier down on the grass gently and swam back to the river to rehydrate.

Kier followed Dev, waiting until Dev was ready to keep going.

"You can sit on my stomach this time" Dev said, laying on his back in the water.

Kier limped over and sat on the meeting between Dev's upper and lower half, wrapping his legs tightly around Dev's body.

As Dev began to keep swimming down the River, Kier pulled out one of the fruits he picked and dipped it in the water. He washed off the fruit before taking a bite.

Sweet.. juicy.. reminded him of- wait.. he didn't remember the name of the fruit? He tried long and hard to remember the name.

Dev grabbed one of the fruits from Kier's side pouch and took a bite from it. Tasted just like a peach. Only it had the texture of a blueberry.

Kier finished the fruit and tossed the core onto land, probably landed on some elf garden. Oh well, free fertilizer for whoever's garden that was.

As for Dev? He ate the entire thing. Stem, core, skin.. all of it. He didn't give two bloody damn shits.
