Y/N's POV:

The blood pulsing at my temples sent the world into silence for a moment. I ran to the very precipice and looked over, the ripples around where they impacted dying out.

I counted the seconds.

Why weren't they resurfacing? Why wasn't Myungho resurfacing? I panicked again. What if he had hit a rock?

"Come on Myung-ah," uttered Jaeyun beside me, his jaw clenched and his eyes trained on the same spot.

The ripples had almost disappeared, replaced by the torrid, foamy tide once again.

I didn't think about the possible consequences when I took off my shoes and socks, my sweater and blouse, then my skirt, leaving me in only my underwear, a thin singlet and my bra. I had less of a chance of drowning with the extra weight off.

"Y/N, what are you doing?" said Jaeyun, taking his eyes away from the water below for the first time.

"Myungho didn't have time to land probably. The impact might have knocked him out." Just like last time, except, this wasn't a mere few meters over a bridge.

"Don't be stupid. There are rocks everywhere down there," he argued, even though I could tell he wanted to get Myungho more than anything too. "And this isn't the pools. The drop has to be around thirty metres, at least."

He looked over the edge again, the others were also at the edge now; Gyeo-wool was crying. I, on the other hand, wasn't willing to let myself move past the state of numb limbo I was in.

"Can you see anything?" Yungyu asked starkly to no one in particular.

Jaeyun started back to the rails, which led a winding trail down to the beach. "The police will get here any second. I'll run down. Maybe he managed to drag himself into an alcove."

Always taking charge and being the voice of logic, this time, it was clear Jaeyun was forcing himself to sound steady, but my mind was set, so I took a breath and readied myself.

And was held by the shoulder when I went to dive.

"Girl," said Heiko, taking her coat off, "if we make this, we so have to try out for synchronised high diving."

I wanted to hug and thank her, but even these mere seconds that had passed were too long, so I nodded as she readied herself at the edge beside me and we dove off the cliff.

The impact was a shock to my system; I'd never dived from higher than twenty metres. But I forced myself to surface instead of freezing. Heiko surfaced beside me, her teeth chattering like mine but still managing to speak.

"I-I'll look this way," she stuttered.

I bobbed my head in acknowledgment and went under also. I searched desperately. Amazingly, we had managed to avoid the rocks, and I was sure this must have been where Myungho had also hit, but I couldn't see him.

Damnit where was he?

I swam deeper, trying to see through the dark blur if there were any bubbles. At this point, I didn't care if it was Changhoon I saw; it would at least mean Myungho would have to be close.

Finally, in seconds that felt like hours, I spotted him. My face and lungs were burning from holding my breath but I surged down after him. His eyes were closed and he didn't respond when I grabbed his wrist. He was out cold and that's what I kept telling myself:
