America, the symbol of Freedom and Equality. The nation that paved the path for the new world to become a reality. In the late 2090, major technological advancements led to the discovery of nanotechnology. But like most technologies, the data revolving around its creation process was eventually revealed to all.

With this newfound technology, people created exactly what you would expect from them: Weapons. Like how the introduction of gunpowder changed the course of war, nanotechnology would do the same. Laser Weaponry, Hover Crafts, Space Exploration, all these things changed the direction humanity was progressing in.

And it was this change that effected the United States of America so deeply. They began leaning back into the ideology of isolationism. So, when the incident at the United World Council occurred and another World War broke out, who did they have to help them. Their isolationism led to them becoming a big target during the Third World War.

It was this time during the Third World War that turned many of America's major cities into battlegrounds. The once grand cities of Los Angelas and New York were turned into barren wastelands. Looking at them now, one would think the city came straight out of a post-apocalyptic world.

A black-haired man sat at the edge of a broken window. Looking down, he examined the wasteland below from his high advantage point. Behind him were the corpses of two exosuit users. One had the Infinium emblem on their shoulder and the other had the emblem of a snake coiling up their arm.

Behind the man, a short, orange haired girl stared at his back. She wore a simple dress and walked barefoot through blood over to him. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she leaned down and spoke to him. "You know it's what you had to do right, Mitch? They would have figured out eventually."

"Maybe." Mitch said solemnly. "But maybe I could have-."

"Bullshit!" The girl retorted angrily. "You really think they wouldn't have recognized you the moment they saw your face. They don't care about all the effort you've put in to change. All they're gonna see is him: The Eater of Worlds."

"Thats their right." Mitch responded while examining the blood stains on his casual clothes. "What right do I have to ask for their forgiveness after all I've done to them?"

"Then don't ask for their forgiveness." The girl said gravely while backing away from Mitch. "Show them that you can be better, that you're not him anymore."

After a moment of consideration, Mitch shifted around and stood up. "Thats not up for me to decide." He said while leaning forward and letting himself fall out of the window. Plunging headfirst down the massive skyscraper, he let himself feel the air hit his body. Then, he spun around in the air, silver nanotechnology wrapping around his arm.

Mitch outstretched his hand and grabbed the side of the skyscraper. This slowed his descent a considerable amount as he neared the bottom of the skyscraper. Upon reaching the third to bottom floor, he set his feet up against the wall and pushed. That sent him flying away from the skyscraper, letting him land on top of a destroyed VTOL.

The impact from Mitch's landing left a sizeable dent in the already destroyed VTOL. Around the VTOL lay the bodies of Infinium soldiers along with multiple exosuit users. The girl walked out from behind the VTOL as Mitch jumped down to examine one of the bodies. Kneeling, he noticed the brutality behind each of the corpses, each of them having some kind of broken bone.

"Someone's coming." The girl warned as she stepped behind Mitch.

In the blink of an eye Mitch was suddenly surrounded by multiple exosuit users. On one side, they sported the Infinium symbol, and on the other, the coiling snake. Turning to the Infinium side, Mitch noticed Commander Drake Zero at their head. On the opposing side stood Ari Yeon of Mariquel.
