Chapter 18- Whose fault is it

Astrid P.O.V

I know what's happening.

I know their plans, their tricks, their strategy. It does not take a minute to interogate one of the warrior to spill the truth. And besides, I will get what I want.

I need to come. They will be in danger and all of this is started because of me, that Heather and Merida business is all on me. The debt that should be paid is supposed to be me. The stupid girl, darn it's all my fault.

Stormfly nudge me hard, snapping me to reality. She looks at me in concern and I just ushered a smile back. "I'm fine Stormfly." patting her and she just nodded.

"Or maybe we should do this ourselves." when I said that Stormfly suddenly stiffened and shook her head, not liking the idea. "I don't want Hiccup to be in trouble, I don't want Berk to have a war because of me." I explained.

Stormfly gave me a glare constantly telling me that it wasn't my fault. Typical everyone are saying that to make me feel better.

They pity me, their pity disgust me. I'm not buying their lies, I'm not that stupid to realize it.

When I dismount Stormfly I saw Hiccup and other vikings in their armor. They should be resting now, not preparing.

"Astrid!" He exclaimes as soon as he saw me, he didn't know I had it all figured out.

"Why so early?" I asked, cutting right into the chase.

"Early? Uhh, early for what?" He scratched the back of his neck, one of the weirdest habbit he had.

"I am aware of it by now. Why won't you let me come along?" His face turned tense at the moment I said it.

"Merida is very dangerous and not to be messed with, Astrid. And Now we're going to enter her lair."

"But it doesn't explain why I can't join the others." I took the possible and unprovoked explanation.

"Please drop it Astrid, I'm not in the mood to talk about it anymore." He sighs, holding both of my hands.

"Fine."

But nothing can stop me

Hiccup P.O.V

I'm going to miss Berk. I'm going to miss the small little things that brightened up my darkest day, I'm going to miss Astrid as well.

I walked toward Toothless, heavily armored "Are you ready Toothless?" he nods and I smirked.

"Sleep while you can. When the sun rises, wake up. Don't sleep in." I warn toothless and he nodded in understanding. I only let strong warriors to come. Most of them are men.

As I walk, I saw my mother talking to Astrid. When they're done, my mom hugged Astrid and she hugged her back. Did something happen?

She saw me and kiss my forehead lovingly. "Hiccup dear, let me make you something." my mom said in worry. Seriously I'm fine, what could possibly go wrong?
"No thanks, mom." I answered simply and walk towards my house.

I walked inside my house and sat on my bed. Thinking of what will happen.
I  just hope it turns out well. I don't like war and never will be.

"No, we will have war!" Fergus, father of Merida roar making his warrior turn to glare at me. "I will not have war! it's just a misunderstanding! You should blame your daughter!" I shout back making him growl in anger. He slam his fist on his throne and stood up. "She's my daughter! You will never took her as your prisoner! I will not let you do that!" he answers one more before he gave signal to his guards to arrest me. The vikings on my side began attacking his guards and I ran back. I ran and told them to leave. When I mount Toothless, Fergus shoot an arrow to me. It hit my leg and it hurts so much! I hissed in pain and Toothless shoot them but that didn't stop them. His guards grab me and carry me inside his dungeon. "You will rot here you little rat!" he spits and lock the door. He looked at me with full of hatred and anger. I don't know what to do anymore. I can't go back, I can't escape, I can't see my girl anymore.

I gasp and pant real hard. What was that?

If it was a dream, why does it feels so real?

If it's really not a dream, could it be a possible vision?

Snap out of it!

I look to the window to see that the sun has rises and it's time to go. I look back and see most vikings are asleep, peacefully.

They will thank me for this. No terror will come in their way anymore, Berk will not to be messed with. They will learn to respect our island.

I yawn and stretched, grabing my armor and put it on. I poke Toothless head waking him up. He does not complain nor get angry to be waken up, just like what I told him yesterday. When he's finally awake I stood up and grab my belongings.

I walk outside with Toothless beside me and I saw Astrid's house in view. Should I say my farewell to her? I felt like today's not going to end well. And I fear that I will not make it home again to see m'lady.

No, possibly don't. It'll make the heart worse. Visiting her in this type of moment will ruin. Besides, absence makes the heart go fonder.

I turn away from going into her house. With a heavy heart I approach the great hall and to see my vikings are prepared and already mounted their dragons. "Ready to go, chief?" one viking asked. Am I ready? I must be ready, haste makes waste. "Ready." I yell making other vikings yell ready too.

We fly there for a couple of hours with our dragons. If you use boat it will be a one day trip. I'm much more quicker than the other vikings cause I rode a night fury. I see the island right ahead of me. It's a pretty big island but hate the princess who lived there.

When we all arrived, we immediately dismount our dragons and walk toward the DunBroch gate. The guards there notice me and open the gate without hestitation. They thought we're here as an ally, guess it would change the moment I stepped inside the castle ground.

We walk inside and their people are looking at us, confused. We shrug off their stares and continue to enter their hall. When we enter, silent erupt the room. All eyes are on us.

I clear my throat and crossed my arms.
"We wish to speak to king Fergus." one of the villager in there nodded and ran upstairs to which I think is the king's room.

Then I hear footsteps from upstairs. It's Fergus right there. He came down with his wife, Eleanor hand in hand. They are so in love. I wish love is as easy as it looks.

"Ah Hiccup! yer came back! what do ya need lass?" he asked in happy tone and sit with his wife on his throne. "I need to speak to you, privately." I said serious.

"Very well, guards leave us!" He shout to his guards and they nodded then they got out. Leaving us alone with the king and queen, and several personal bodyguards. I don't mind them.

"Is there anything wrong Hiccup? You look tense." the queen asked while looking at me. Sure I'm tense, I didn't even realise how stern my face are, and how my eyes glared so hard on them.

"Your daughter, Merida-"

"ay what has she done now?!" the queen sighs and plop down to her seat in frustration. I guess Merida is one heck of a child.

"She attacked my.. uh... female chief or um my girlfriend." Seriously I have no idea what to adress her to other people.

"Attack her?!" the queen gasp while the king stood there not moving. His eyes bore into mine.

"My girlfriend is badly injured because of her. I mean, she's dying. I don't know what to do but please let us do this."

"Do what, son?" king fergus asked dead serious.

"Capture her for her actions? cause my people will never forgive that woman for hurting the love of my life! she cause so many troubles these past day including making people badly injured! I need to put her down in the dungeon and punish her with consequences! " I burst out making both the queen and king froze on their spot after my sudden outburst.

I gasp and realize what I had done. "king Fergus I'm sorry, I didn't mean it that way."

The king strides closer to me, his eyes never leave mine. I could feel my vikings reached for their weapons, incase the king hurt me. But instead he sigh,

"Of course you can, she deserves punishment."

Wait, what?
