Chapter 7 - My flight with Stormfly

Toothless P.O.V (so random, but it's okay)

- These are dragon's dialogue translated into english

I growled at Hiccup for not taking me to fly today. Thus today is a fine day. That sun shines the sky, tempting me to fly in their sky. I snarled at Hiccup, a dragon needs to fly.  "We could do it later." he then continued talking to Astrid. Well, I don't hate Astrid but Hiccup needs to make attention to the both of us equally. I growled again but he ignores my complain.

I sat there annoyed, then came Stormfly that suddenly sat beside me. "Tough day?" Stormfly asked. She's a friend, nothing else. I mean, Hookfang, Meatlug, Barf and Belch are pretty cool friends but Stormfly is far the best. She listens and understand, unlike the others. They're idiots for my liking.

"Fly, I just want to fly. The sky's so tempting, I can't resist." I respon and lay down on the grass. "What a shame." she answers, pity surged in the tension. "How about you, did you fly with Astrid today? I turn to ask her and she nods. "I just came back, actually." She said but then looking down thinking about something. I wonder what is she thinking about.

"Why don't you fly with me?" She asked, excited. "I would love to, but how could I?" I asked dumbfounded. "You have the new automatic tail, what seems to be the problem?" she asked, confused as she tilted her head.

"What about them? Who would protect them? And how am I supposed to ask his permission?"

"They will be fine, they got each other backs. Just ask your owner, silly.." she said as she jumps and ran toward Astrid. I am silly? I do not understand.

"What is it, Stormfly?" Astrid asked her. Stormfly growl and Astrid understand what Stormfly wants. Just like me and Hiccup.

"Hiccup, Stormfly want to have a little flight with Toothless. You okay with that?"

Astrid asked Hiccup permission too. "Alright, let me set Toothless tail to automatic." he reply and walk towards me. I lick his face and he just laughs at me.

"Okay bud, good luck for your fly date with Stormfly." he teases. Seriously? Why do those vikings kept saying that I have a thing with Stormfly? Humans are annoying. I flash my canine to Hiccup, warning him.

"I'm just kidding, Toothless. Don't get mad." he said in a chuckle.

"Be back before sun set ya'll. Don't get lost." Astrid said while tooking off Stormfly's saddle. Hiccup didn't took off my saddle because it is a part of my tail, my fly support. I'm thankful that it is not heavy, not a heavy burden to carry.

"Take care you guys." Hiccup adds.

We took off. A little getaway from our work.

We fly together now, side by side. I flap my wings, feeling the wind brushes my skin. This is life, dragons are blessed with the gift of flying.

"I was wondering, Why did Hiccup named you Toothless?" she asked bluntly.

"When we first met he brought a fish. I went over for the fish that is currently in his hand, because I'm starving to death. I open my mouth and waited for him to throw me the fish into my mouth. Then he says Toothless meaning no teeth. He was startled when I have a retractable teeth. That name just glues on me, I guess."

"Interesting. ." she laugh and I just smile.

"So what about you? Why did Astrid named you Stormfly?"

"Actually, I don't know." she shrugs, taking a swirl in the air.

     "Astrid didn't tell you?"

"She told me that she came up with the name suddenly. Or infact she's lying. But no matter."

"I see." I replied, taking a slight twist on my body to glide in the air. She follows my lead as she roared a little, meaning that she's having a great flight.

"It's getting late, let's head back." Stormfly suggested and I nod, agreeing.

I enjoy our flight, we should do it again sometime. See you around Stormfly." I smiled while flashing a grin at her.

"I had a great time. See you around too, Toothless." she smiled back and take off to her house.

The sky's so dark that the stars looks like it actually glowing. Stars so pure, I wish I could touch it. It is unreachable, the sky's the limit.

"Having fun with Stormfly bud? I bet you do something more than playing." he caught me staring at the starry nights and smirked.

I snarled at him as he laugh. I took a leap at him and fell down on the ground with him underneath. I growled hard at him that made him flinched. I just scare the chief.

"Okay I'm sorry bud, I'm sorry." he pleaded and I release him. I let out a laugh and lick him, as forgiveness. "Toothless! You know that doesn't wash out!" he said disgusted by my saliva all over his body. I let out a chuckle but he throw me some of my saliva on his hand back to me, which actually disgust me.

I look back up, staring at the stars. They danced freely in the starry night, not caring for anything. They look so free, I wanted to be free. Freedom have a cost now, it isn't fair. It should be earned, not bought.

"I pity the moon sometimes." Hiccup says beside me, I look up to him as he sigh in sadness. "It soulmate is in the other time. They would meet in the middle of night and, but never together as in staying in the same place together. They just pass by. The moon sleeps, the sun wakes. The sun sleeps, the moon wakes."

"I'm going to rest, see you tomorow." he mumurs as he stroke my head gently. I yawned, feeling the exhaustion. I watched as Hiccup retreat back to his room while I stayed outside.

I've been sleeping alone outside these days, I love to sleep underneath the sky. It feels right and comforting. The moon shines the dark, it protects.

It love the sun, but it hurts knowing that they would never be together.
