Author's pov

"I don't understand this. Is he a f***ing animal? Who purrs like that? Seriously! If you're from the tribe of the felines, then again but he's not a freaking feline! I don't understand how people like this book series and more about confusing the fae with the elves." Ingrid soon let out a while reading A Court of Mists and Fury.

They were in Athanasia's room, and they were just chilling with books, phones, and food.

Ingrid grunts by the book with her single brow up and making a dissatisfied expression. After living for thousands of years, she spent most of her time drinking, eating, being straight-up sarcastic and sassy with others, and reading many books before Japanese manga and movies came.

She did love action, adventure, and fantasy with a side of romance. It made the books more likable and more entertaining.

But what she didn't like in Acotar, A Court of Thorns and Roses was how they described the potential love interests and made them like animals.

To her, it was mocking of her people who possess animal characteristics and other tribes such as werecats or more.

And also, the whole patriarchy of Prythian made her annoyed. I mean when they worshipped a Goddess while the whole system was in the man's view.

Stupid, Ingrid thought, and she would go there and find the idiot who created the High Lords' tradition before torturing him.

But she had better things to do than just pick a fight with misogynists.

"Ah, f**k it. Can you give me one of the Devil's Night series, the one with a tattooed kid and the snowflake ballerina, Mija?" she asked. Nayeli soon hangs her over the book she asked for. Ingrid pulls a smile on her pale face before she grabs it and opens it.

"I can't believe you like that book. Even Layla was surprised you liked the whole series despite it being a New Adult dark romance." Diana says, making Ingrid look at her with her honey-golden eyes.

"Well, Diana. Well, this is my favorite because it involves elements such as the emotions of the main characters and how they can overcome their traumas and struggles that her stupid family plays him to be the villain and why he is the way he is. Their parents are shitheads." she uttered those words on purpose and expressed her disgust for people who are horrible to their children.

One of her parents and her sister started to neglect her after she became blind and they treated her like a burden, making her independent on her own.

Another was abused by his stepmother whom he genuinely thought was his birth mother, self-harming, killed his stepmother, and coped with his trauma in a controlling and harmful way, even dealing with his self-worth and he believed he deserved love.

Yeah, shitty parents, and his dad was the worst of them.

Diana looks at her adoptive mother while drinking her Lippe tea before putting it down on the small plate.

"And I thought you liked the whole "Touch her and you die" vibes despite you are the definition of those vibes," Diana says to her, making Ingrid look at her with her eyebrow up.

Nayeli couldn't laugh but chuckle while Ingrid formed a smile on her lips.

"Girl, I mean I am very much. But also, I do like a man who is willing to kill for me but I do like charming and chaotic men like Tom Hiddleston. He's one charming devil despite he's younger than me." Ingrid says to her, revealing her ideal type of man.

Diana chuckles as Ingrid goes back to reading her book. "Ah, I'm going to miss him playing Loki. He killed that role with style and perfection." Ingrid dreamily sighs.
