arriving home from work after a quick stop at the mall, liberty made an early dinner and took a shower before getting settled in her room. headphones in, sitting on her bed with her knees bent and her dairy rested against them as she drafted a letter to the girl she had hung out with for the last week.

she spent next to an hour articulating the correct and nicest way to put things, scrapping multiple paragraphs, starting over many times and debating the whole idea just as much till she came up with what seem deemed as the prefect breakup letter;

' hey charley >ᴗ<

i feel this is the easiest way for me to
approach the conversation as i struggle
to find the right words at times and i believe
a little hand written letter is way more
genuine than a text

i've thought a lot about everything you
said and this is a really hard decision for me
to make but i don't think things between us
are going to work out..

the idea of being with someone who
swiped on me because of my friends just
doesn't sit right with me. even if you do
now genuinely have feelings for me it's
just a weird feeling to know that you
wanted to be with me for what seems
like the sake of having one degree of
separation from my friend's band

i don't despise you for that. i know how
exciting it is to dream about the chance of
meeting your favorite artist. i'm aware it
was never for your own satisfaction and it
was that you probably just wanted to give
that chance to jess to meet her favorite
band

but also i won't lie, it's not just that..
i'm not sure how i feel about maya. don't
get me wrong she's every nice, she's lovely
and i loved being around the three of you
it's just odd to watch the two of you
interact

and i'm aware it's very extremely
hypocritical of me to say as i am too
friends with my ex, and i'm by no means
saying that him and i are the prefect
example of how exes can be just friends.
i mean i've told you the things him and
i have done since breaking up

so i of course tried my hardest to give
you all my trust because i know how it
feels to have someone not want to be with
you due being friends with an ex but i just
can't shake this gut feeling that you two
still have something there

i hope you don't hate me for saying
that, i promise i really tried my hardest
to not feel the way i was because i really
did like you, you are the most kind and
caring girl i've ever been in a relationship
with

and i just want to say thank you for the
last week and i enjoy every single minute
i spent with you

folding up the letter, she grabbed a envelope out out of her bedside drawer and slide it inside, addressing it with the girls name then setting it down. after she grabbed the bag from earlier and check for replied to texts send had sent earlier in the day.

and soon packaging an unopened 'why don't we' shirt and a couple other of their merch items into a gift bag all long with two half signed cds and setting the letter on top. she took her headphone out, leaving them on her bedside table as she grabbed her keys and got up.

slipping on her uggs, liberty switched off the lights in her bedroom before heading through the house and out to her car. contacting her aux and then pulling out of the driveway as she made the drive to jack's place.

arriving she sent the boy a text, waiting a few seconds and getting out once she saw the boy open the front door. walking over with the cds and a sharpie, the two exchanging a smile and a quick greeting.

"fit goes hard tonight," the boy softly snickered as he glanced up and down her.

"this is my lounging outfit," she shook her head.

"nah i think it's cute"

"thanks.." she fell silent for a what felt like a long time to her, although it was barely a couple second. "so.. um, for you."

"you using us for money again?" jack joked, taking one of the cds off her and opening the sharpie. "first making sure to get a tag when you do our hair, now this?"

"yep, gonna go bid it on ebay," she grinned.

"let me know how much you make, maybe i need to get into it as a side hustle," he laughed, switching cds with her.

"will do."

".. so how's things with the girlfriend?" he raised a brow, handing her back the cd and then putting the cap back on the sharpie.

"we broke up.."

"oh really? already?"

"already," she mocked. "shut up. it's your fault we broke up-"

"my fault?!" he unintentionally interrupted her as he playfully exclaimed.

"yeah actually, she admitted she swiped on me cause i'm friends with you and her ex's sister's in love with you and wanted to try and get yous to preform for her," she laughed to avoid feeling sad about it. "she's who the gifts for, i kinda felt bad so i wanted to do a little something.."

"i mean charley's ex could've just been lying to me about them not having money and that being her reasoning for wanting me as an in but whatever, corbyn's and jonah's signatures are forged anyway so yeah.." she continued to babbled.

"they're forged?" he furrowed, gently taking one back off of her to have a second look.

"yep, daniel and i sat there last night practicing before making it official- they know we done it, jonah's out of town and corbyn's too hard to meet up with so we had no choice really- well i did but i don't want to go back after tonight."

"well good job, you fooled me," he handed it back to the girl again. "guessing you're seeing zach after here? only one missing."

"mmm-hm. he lives closer to them so it just made sense."

"of course," jack nodded in agreement. "well i'll let you get going on your little journey. and i'm sorry about the breakup, maybe you need to date someone more on our level."

"as if i'd find anyone," she chuckled.

"see you on monday? for my hair?"

"yes! see you then avery."

"bye mckenna, drive safe"
