"i'll get it!" lucia called out to the two in the girls in response to the doorbell ringing.
expecting it to be her friend, she opened the door with excitement plastered on her face. only for it to slightly drop once she realised it was liberty who had arrived earlier than the approximate time she told charley.
"hey girlie," liberty smiled, giving the girl a quick hug.
"heyy," she returned the gesture. "charley's in the kitchen."
"thank you"
wandering through towards the kitchen as she replied to daniel's text, letting him know what she was currently up to. liberty stopped just outside the entryway, out of the two's view as she heard;
"have you asked her about having that boy band play yet?"
"i can't yet," charley softly giggled, obviously enjoying being around her ex. "it's only been a week, the party's not for a month so let me get a little closer to her first so it doesn't seem like i'm using her."
that made liberty's heart sink.
"you know how much jess would love it."
"yes i know, she loves them.. just let me follow through with the plan. i promise i'll try my hardest to make it happen," charley assured.
liberty took a deep breath, trying to best to not show the say she was feeling after hearing that as she stepped into the kitchen, "hey!"
"lilli!" the girl returned a smile, pulling her into a hug and placing a kiss on her lips. "you're early and lookin' really cute."
"yeah, i- there wasn't as much traffic as i thought there would be," she explained as they pulled away from each other. "lu let me in."
"oh, i thought it was brynn.."
"mh.." she softly hummed. "so.. do you wanna explain your little plan?"
"what? our plan for tonight?" she furrowed. "we're going out for dinner, do you not want to anymore?"
"i'm not usually one to be nosey with others business or ask about things i overhear but i think i have the right to ask when from what i heard you're using me to get my friends to perform at some party.."
"lil, you only heard half the conversation," she attempted to reassure the younger. "i'm not using you. when i saw you on tinder i had looked at your page, and of course when a girl on app has her preferences set to match with girls then has just her and a guy on their page.."
"of course someone is going to make sure that guy is not a romantic interest," she continued. "and when i was looking at your post, i realised i knew him because may's sister has like a million poster of his band around her room and doesn't shut up about them.."
"so if i had a post with just one female friend, instead of male, that wouldn't have been a problem?" liberty raised a brow.
"no, i was just like using it as example," she quickly defended herself. "because that's what stuck out on your account."
"i'm gonna go to my room now.." maya chimed in. "i didn't mean to start any of this, i just suggested it cause i know how much my sister would enjoy it. our family doesn't have the most money and like all she wants in life right now is to meet them. but honestly, it's fine, don't worry about it."
"i mean, even if they wanted to do a little performance, they legally can't at the moment with all the stuff they have going on.." liberty mentioned.
"i understand," she nodded. "it's okay, i promise. it was just an idea char and i were talking about. anyway i'll leave you two to talk things out now.."
"thanks," charley softly smiled at her ex, watching her for a few seconds before bringing her attention back to the other. "i'm sorry you heard may and i's conversation.."
"can you please just be honest with me.. are you only with me because i'm friends what daniel and the boys?"
"i mean- i'll be honest, i defiantly went straight to may when i saw that you were friends with him and it kinda have helped to convince me to swipe right.." she explained. "if you don't want to be with me now, i totally understand."
"i just- i think i need sometime.. to like think.."
"i get that," charley nodded, grabbing the girl's hand as a sign of comfort. "just know i have really enjoyed all the time we've spent together.."
