Intrigued and determined, Diya felt compelled to uncover the truth behind Mr Manor's tormented existence. As Diya held Emily's diary in her hands, she felt a chill run down her spine. She knew that if Mr Manor, the so-called previous owner of the Victorian mansion, wanted to maintain his grip on the cursed estate and the future of her family, he would have taken her life without a moment's hesitation.

But Diya was determined to uncover the secrets that lay within the diary and get to the bottom of the chilling whispers that echoed through the walls of the haunted mansion that had been passed down to her from her grandmother. She was convinced that there was more to the curse and the eerie atmosphere that surrounded the mansion, and she was determined to uncover the truth no matter what it took.

Caleb was sprawled out on the couch like a beached whale, trying to recover from their escape mission. He was so relaxed that he could have easily fallen asleep. But, Diya was not in the mood to let him take a nap. She shook him like a snow globe, hoping that he would snap out of his slumber.

"Hey, Caleb! Wakey-wakey! I need you to help me with something," she said.

Caleb was sitting with his eyes half-closed when Diya walked up to him. She leaned in, and he saw her face up close for the first time. At that moment, Caleb realized how stunningly beautiful she was. His heart skipped a beat, and he felt his face flush with a warm sensation. Caleb couldn't help but admire her features- her sparkling eyes, her perfectly shaped nose, and her soft, full lips. The sight of her left Caleb feeling dizzy and breathless, and he couldn't shake off the feeling even after she left.

He thought to himself, "This is not the time to be falling in love. We just escaped from Mr. Manor's mansion, and we have work to do. But, man, those hazel eyes are something else."

It was a close call, but Caleb managed to shake off his romantic thoughts and return to business. As soon as Diya walked away, he jumped off the couch like a kangaroo on steroids. She handed him Emily's diary and he held it as if it were a hot potato.

"You had her diary all this while?" Caleb's eyes widened in shock as he frantically sifted through the pages.

"You had your fair share of secrets and I had mine too," Diya smirked at him.

Caleb sheepishly smiled at her and continued to flip through the diary but then he stopped abruptly at one particular page and stared at it like a cat staring at a laser pointer. She couldn't help but laugh at his intense and dramatic reaction. Diya thought if he focused any harder, he might start a fire with his eyes.

"Hey, Diya! Could you come up for a while? I need to speak to you," Tabitha's voice sounded urgent as she stood at the foot of the staircase.

Diya's head spun around like a confused owl's when she saw Tabitha's face, which looked like a lost puppy's. She wondered what had gone down while she was upstairs with Brinanne, and briefly considered the possibility that she had walked into a parallel universe. As she walked towards Tabitha, Caleb quickly shifted his weight and quickly sat down on the couch again.

Tabitha's curious expression prompted her to ask Diya, "Do you think we can trust Caleb?"

Diya was surprised by the sudden question and asked, "Why do you ask that all of a sudden?"

Tabitha raised an eyebrow in confusion and explained, "I have a feeling that he's not telling us everything he knows. Shouldn't we confront him and find out?"

Diya, after giving it some thought, agreed to have a conversation with Caleb regarding a certain matter that was bothering Tabitha. However, she cautioned Tabitha to proceed with caution and not to push Caleb too far during the confrontation.

"We still need to figure out what he's up to," said Diya, glancing over at Caleb.

Tabitha expressed her agreement, acknowledging the fact that they needed to exercise caution while dealing with Caleb. She understood that it was important not to give away their lack of complete trust in him, as it could have negative consequences.

Diya noticed that Tabitha seemed anxious about Caleb and his behavior. So, she tried to comfort her by assuring her that she didn't have to worry too much about him. Diya also advised Tabitha to prioritize her own safety.

Caleb raised his head from his phone and noticed Diya making her way towards him. He observed her as she picked up Emily's diary from the coffee table and started perusing its contents. The diary seemed to hold a certain allure for Diya as if she was looking for something specific amidst the pages. Caleb couldn't help but wonder what secrets the diary held and what could have intrigued Diya so much.

"I just realized that this diary is completely empty," Diya said, holding up the book for Caleb to see. "There's not a single word written in it."

Caleb looked surprised and confused. "What do you mean?" he asked.

"I mean, there's nothing in here," Diya said, flipping through the blank pages once more. "I guess Emily never actually started writing in it."

Caleb furrowed his brow, unsure of what to make of the situation. "That's strange," he said. "Why would she even bother getting a diary if she wasn't going to use it?"

Diya shrugged. "Who knows," she said. "Maybe she just liked the idea of having one."

As Caleb turned through the pages of the diary, his eyes fell upon the last two pages. He stopped at the final page and, with a gasp, turned the diary around to show Diya what he had discovered. To her amazement, the page was filled with an array of cryptic symbols and codes that seemed to hold some kind of profound meaning. Despite not being able to interpret the symbols, Diya felt a strong urge to uncover their significance.
