Meeting the 118

Mazikeen exited the taxi with Eddie following her as they got their bags from the trunk. Mazikeen frowned and looked at him, 

"Are you sure about this?"

Eddie smirked and nudged her, 

"You can't be getting cold feet now, Jazz is probably back at NEST, he can't drive all the way to LA,"

Mazikeen sighed dramatically, 

"Hey, that's my guardian, I betcha he would try his best,"

Eddie laughed and wrapped his arm around her shoulder, 

"Come on, Buck told me he got Christopher at the fire station,"

"Okay,"

Eddie grabbed her hand and squeezed it. Then he led her into a large firehouse and they immediately heard, 

"DAD!!!!"

Eddie let go of Mazikeen's hand and laughed, 

"Chris!"

He hugged the young boy and picked him up, 

"I missed you, buddy,"

"I missed you too, dad,"

Mazikeen smiled softly at the exchange and when Eddie set Christopher down, he turned and noticed Mazikeen, 

"Mazikeen!"

Mazikeen laughed and hugged him, 

"Hey, Chris! We finally meet,"

Christopher laughed, 

"Did you bring me something cool?"

Mazikeen smirked,

"Were you behaving?"

Christopher immediately nodded, 

"Yeah! Ask Buck!"

Mazikeen laughed and then noticed the others around her and smiled at them all, 

"Hello, I'm Mazikeen, Eddie has told me a lot about all of you,"

Hen smirked, 

"It better be all good things,"

Mazikeen laughed and nodded, 

"Yep, all good things,"

Mazikeen dug into her pocket and took out a small bracelet and gave it to Christopher, 

"Here you go, Bud...it's a small walk-e-talkee if you press that button, your dad will be able to hear you and talk to you,"

Christopher's eyes brightened, 

"Awesome!"

Eddie looked at her, 

"I don't remember you telling me about that,"

Mazikeen winked at him, 

"That's because I didn't tell you,"

Bobby laughed, 

"Welcome to the 118th, Mazikeen,"

Mazikeen smiled and shook his hand, 

"It's my honor, captain Nash,"

Bobby smiled, 

"You can call me Bobby,"

Mazikeen nodded, 

"Call me Maze,"

Buck walked up to her, 

"So...are you in the army?"

Mazikeen smiled and nodded, 

"Yep, five years strong,"

Chimney put a hand on her shoulder with a smirk on his face, 

"Fantastic, you can tell us stories about Edmundo,"

Mazikeen laughed and smirked at him, 

"It would be my absolute pleasure, Chim,"

Chimney glanced at Eddie with a smile, 

"Oh, I like her,"

Eddie sighed and rubbed his face, 

"I regret this,"

Mazikeen laughed at him and winked, 

"No, you do not, you told me years ago that you wanted me to meet Chris, and I am,"

Christopher nodded, 

"Yeah!"

Eddie sighed, 

"Okay okay,"

Hen smiled, 

"Come on up, we are just about to have some food,"

Mazikeen smiled brightly, 

"Oh I would love some actual food,"

Eddie laughed, 

"Sure beats that stuff at the base,"

Mazikeen took a sniff at the air and her eyes widened, 

"Who cooked?"

Buck smirked, 

"Bobby is the best cook ever,"

Mazikeen nodded, 

"I can tell already,"

They laughed, and all sat down. Mazikeen smirked as Eddie sat in between Christopher and Buck while she was next to Hen and Chimney. Hen nudged her, 

"How did you meet Eddie?"

Mazikeen smiled softly, 

"We met during some training for our squads...then we got close when we went on a tour together and worked a bit together,"

Chris smirked, 

"And you liked each other a lot!"

Mazikeen laughed while Eddie blushed, 

"Yes, we did for a while, but we are best friends now,"

Eddie nodded, 

"Yeah,"

Buck frowned, 

"Wait, I'm not your only best friend?"

Mazikeen smirked, 

"Technically, I'm his first best friend, so I am better,"

Buck crossed his arms, 

"But I'm his best guy friend, so I am better,"

Everyone laughed and Bobby put a hand on Buck's shoulder, 

"Ladies, no arguing at the family dinner,"

Mazikeen smiled and laughed as the hours went by. Then the fire alarm went off and they all shot up. Bobby put a hand on Eddie's shoulder, 

"You can stay here with Maze and Chris, we will be back before you know it,"

Eddie shook his head, 

"Respectfully, cap, I want to come,"

Mazikeen smiled softly, 

"I'll stay here with Chris, don't worry,"

Bobby sighed and nodded, 

"Okay, suit up!"

Eddie immediately smiled and ran to get the old gear. Hen patted Mazikeen's shoulder, 

"We will be right back,"

Mazikeen shrugged, 

"I'll be here,"
