Emily sat on the floor sobbing. She was a lady in her late twenties; 26 years old to be precise. And like every other lady her age or most of them, one of her dreams was to get married and she thought her dream was going to come to pass soon enough, only to receive a message from her boyfriend that night that he was done with the relationship.

She was hurt by it and cried her eyes out, mostly because she didn't know what she did wrong. She kept calling but he didn't pick up.

Having no other choice, she doubted if he had ever loved her. She had been the one putting more into the relationship and maybe she had put in too much that's why it hurt this bad.

She remembered the day he approached her after church service; he seemed so sincere and trustworthy, coupled with his sweet smile and poetic rhymes, he was able to sweep her off her feet.

Maybe she expected too much that's why it hurt this bad.

She sobbed in-between her thighs, her heart was deeply broken. She wondered if she could ever find true love in this deceptive world.

"Isn't that Emily?"

"Of course that's her. I wonder what's making her cry" the second guard replied as they watched her through the camera visual.

Mia heard sobs coming from behind the wall. It was a lady's sob. She wondered if the person was hurt.

Basically, she wasn't one to care about what wasn't her concern but lately she had been doing things she normally won't do.
She put on her slippers and followed the sound of the sob.

"Hey what's wrong? Are you hurt?" She asked when she saw the person, head locked between thighs.

Slowly, Emily raised her head. Her face clearly tear-streaked.

"Emily? Why are you crying? Are you hurt somewhere?" She asked as she crouched down in front of her.

Emily placed her hand on her chest and cried more.

"Does your chest hurt?" Mia asked oblivious to what that meant.

Emily laughed and then bursted into louder sobs.

"My heart hurts Chef Natasha, it's hurts like crazy"

"Have you taken any medication?"

She laughed again.
"This isn't something that medicine can heal"

Mia was still confused and Emily knew that.

"He broke up with me Natasha. He broke my heart. I'm so hurt and tired. So hurt and..." She resumed another round of sobs.

Mia was very bad when it comes to consoling so she felt trapped right now and cursed herself and curiosity.

'What do I say? What do I do?' she thought.

Having no other choice, she pulled her into her arms and patted her back.

"It's okay. Don't cry anymore" but that even made her cry more.

"Men are scum, you know that, so don't waste your precious tears on them" this was the best she got.

===PRESENT===

"Did I do something" Anton asked unsure and confused.

"No sir. I just want to resign now" she pulled her hand slowly from his and looked away.

Anton raked his hair in obvious confusion.

"Fine. You want to resign but can I know why exactly"

"It's just that I think I'm done with cooking for now"

He breathed out deeply.
"Nat let's sit and talk"

"I don't..."

"Sit down Nat. Please"

She obeyed.

"Do you want a salary increase? Will that make you stay?"

"That's a very generous offer but thank you sir"

"I can triple it if you'd like"
She shook her head in negation.

"Then what do you want, that would make you stay?"

"I'm sorry sir"

Anton was doing a bad job hiding his desperation and he knew it but he just couldn't control it.

"Nat I'm very personal when it comes to food and I enjoyed your meal that's why I chose you to be my chef. But now you want to resign, and on such short notice and you refuse to give me a reasonable reason why....Nat I don't have anyone one to replace you for now, so can you stay till I get someone else?"

Mia felt pity for him, he looked like he was going to break down any minute now.

'What had she gotten her self into?
When did things become like this?

"I'll stay Mr Hugh, just until you get my replacement"

"That's a relief"

"But I want to ask for something"

"What is it?" Anton asked, a bit scared of what she might say next.

"I would like a day off today"

That was a relief at least.

"That's okay. You can have it but you have to prepare dinner before you go"

"I'll do that"

Anton knew she didn't have a family so he wondered what she needed a day off for but stopped himself from asking.

"Did I get drunk last night?" Anton asked in deep curiosity because he couldn't remember a single thing.

"Yes you did and also passed out. I had to help you to your room"

"That's embarrassing" he said sheepishly "But thank you, I appreciate"

"You don't need to thank me sir. I'll get going now"

"I'll assign someone to drop you off and pick you up"

"It's okay sir, I'm okay by myself "

          *****          *****

There was a knock at the door. Dixon and Luther looked at each other.

"Mia would never knock on the door? She knows the passcode" Luther said confused.

"Are you expecting someone?"

"No, I should be asking you that" Luther replied.

Dixon checked the visual on the door camera and excitement replaced his anxiety.
He rushed and opened the door.

"Bro" Dixon called excitedly as he jumped on him in a bear hug.

"Hey hey, don't make me fall"

"You never told me you were coming"

"It's called a surprise visit Dixon"

"I missed you a lot"

"I missed you and your craziness" Dixon laughed.

"I told you you would" he laughed "How'd you get the address"

"You sent it three months ago, remember?"

"I do remember waiting but you never showed up"

"Again I'm sorry"

"Whatever. Lets go in"

After a brief greeting, Luther left them and went into the study room to continue his random search.

Dixon and James sat laughing in the kitchen over bottles of coke.

Dixon who had gone to drop the bottles, on turning back, was met with a fruit knife pointed at his throat.

"Where's Mia?" James asked huskily.
