Blake: Unova.

Paul was front and center when they arrived at Unova. Ash smiled from behind the group as James pointed out the big parts from just where they could see. Max and Gary were looking over their notebooks, comparing their data of the new region. Ash sighed as he closed his eyes. He hoped he could get answers here. He remembered his mother's words before she had left him.

"This Unovan Prowess should be useful..."

She never said that directly to him. But he heard it and wanted to know more. He huffed a little before Gary pulled him from his thought process.

"Ash?" He looked up before Gary smiled. "All good?"

"Yeah... just lost in thought." Gary hummed.

"Well... your mom did mention Unova. You think you'll find something?" He nodded.

"That's the plan. If we find anything while we're traveling, then great." He paused. "But I have to be lucky." Gary placed a hand on his shoulder.

"We will. And if not, then we'll try the next region." Ash nodded softly as the boat docked.

They wandered around Castela City before coming across a small crowd.

"Gather 'round! Victini will be here soon to choose people!" The group went over to the crowd as a female noticed them. She went over with a smile.

"You here to see Victini, the Mythical of Victories?" They paused. "Victini appears once a year to answer questions." Gary met Ash's eyes. This was exactly what Ash was looking for. The raven haired male was silent before smiling at the girl.

"I am." The others must've seen the look exchange as they questioned nothing. The girl scanned him before nodding.

"Right. Then come on!" Ash nodded to Gary before joining the crowd. Gary smiled.

"Let's go to the nearest center." They nodded before joining his lead.

Meanwhile, Ash was lost in thought before the girl joined him.

"Sorry if this sounds intruding, but what are you looking to ask Victini?" He glanced at her before humming.

"Something of my past... My mother said something and I've been trying to figure out what she meant." He looked at the ground before she responded.

"What did she say?"

"Something about Unovan Prowess." She hummed. "I don't know. My mum left me when I was young. I was old enough to remember those words, but young enough to not be able to stop her." He looked up at the sky with a hum. "If Victini can't answer the question, I won't be too disappointed. I'm sure someone else will." She purred before the crowd gasped.

"Victini!" The duo joined as the Victory Pokemon flew around them. It danced around the air before landing on a small wall.

"Vic!" It scanned the group before its smile widened. "Vic vic!" Pikachu purred on his shoulder as the man that was leading smiled.

"Alright Victini. We are ready. Pick the three people you want to choose."

Victini giggled before it floated up, scanning the crowd. It then swooped down and landed on the girl's head. The others applauded as she brought it back to the front of the group. It floated up again before swooping down and landing on a green haired male's head. He looked puzzled, but he followed the girl's lead as the others applauded him. Victini repeated the steps, this time landing on Ash's unoccupied shoulder. He smiled before leading it back up to the front. The leader smiled.

"That's our three! Come back next year!" The crowd cheered as he turned to them. "Victini, we'll meet you on the island." It nodded before suddenly vanishing from Ash's shoulder.
