Chapter 11: Vampire Ethan

Ethan's POV

"My King are you sure with the agreement with the Greenfield pack." My beta Alex said with doubt filled in his eyes.

"Are you now doubting my decisions, if so let me remind you whose the King here and if dare disobey you know the consequences."

"Forgive me but these days you seem to be going out frequently which is not why we came for here." He said that right infront of me. The nerve of this guy, who is he to tell where to go and what to do.

"Need l remind you that I can go where ever l want at any time l please besides you all care about yourselves, when did l ever go somewhere without those pesky elders involving themselves in my business.

All my life l had to sacrifice myself, my childhood and l worked day and night without rest just for the welfare of my people and this is what l get in return." I said in one breath, l so angry right now and it's because of my people.

"Forgive me my King for questioning your decision."

"You can go now l just need some time alone and tell anyone not disturb me."

"Yes my King" he said  and left. l sighed and walked to the balcony of the hotel room.

I started thinking of Emerald. That girl is sure amazing living in the forest and in the tallest tree of all places.

I chuckled a bit when l remembered our first encounter at the cafe, she asked me a question that if I was human, it would definitely be weird but because l wasn't, the question wasn't weird, l just couldn't answer honestly because of the environment.

I laughed at what she said after that, well l do know that am handsome but this girl is so funny, just because l look handsome she thought l was not human but she was right though. She rushed off her face red with embarassment
I knew that I shouldn't have laughed at her but l couldn't hold back because of her silliness.

When she came back she said something weird, l mean she said it's because of us she has to eat for three people. I was confused by what she said but it seems that she mistakenly said that loud.

I wanted to know her name but to my utmost suprise her name is the same as her eyes, no wonder why she's called Emerald. She is so beautiful.

I saw her peeking through the door when she left and l looked at her then 'bam'  the door was slammed with so much force,  she screamed so loud that everyone in the cafe were startled but the owner reassured the people.

I told the guys who l was with that am going to the bathroom and left for the kitchen. I saw her staring at her red fingers with ice. Poor girl, she hurt because l looked at her.

I obviously knew how and why she got hurt which is funny, if it someone else l would laughed to death but the fact that it was her l had to forget my cruelty and be caring, a part of me felt pain seeing her in pain.

I asked her what happened even l knew but l just wanted to hear it from her, l even tried to read her mind but strangely my power didn't work. It always works but that time it didn't work which is still troubling me.

Her mind had a barrier of some sort preventing me to hear her thoughts. I sighed and went back inside, atleast my mood is much better now after thinking about her. The days are evil because soon  we have to head back to the kingdom.

It's so lonely there although my little sister is there but somehow l was cursed because l didn't find a mate for the last fifty years, well until now when I went to that cafe practically forced because the alpha David insisted that we go and will discuss the land agreement there.

When l went to that cafe that was when l met her,my mate Emerald but it seems like she didn't sensed the bond so l played at cool.

It seems she is falling for me step by step just like how l planned, she will be mine soon before l leave this place. People here might think that am in my twenties but sorry to burst the bubble coz am fifty one years old.

Emerald's POV

The exams ended at 4 o'clock and l left the university early to go to the cafe. I am feeling happy that tommorow is the graduation and I'll have my degree.

I went the whole way humming a song until l arrived at the cafe. Yeah right, l have to make an excuse why l didn't come yesterday.

"Good evening Mrs Martha, l am sorry for not coming yesterday and not informing l won't make it. We were given an extra lesson because today we had exams." I said when l entered the kitchen and saw her sitting with a solemn face.

"Mrs Martha what's wrong?"

"Dear, we were given a notice letter and we have to close the cafe by tomorrow."

"What! but this cafe was your dream to be located here."

"I guess some dreams are not meant to be fulfilled. I will go back to my hometown in country A and start a new cafe there."

"Oh okay, l understand. Wish you the best at the next cafe you're planning to start."

"Here is your salary in advance and thank you for all your hard work and service." She said passing me the envelope and l gave her goodbye hug.

"I'll miss you Mrs Martha and take care of yourself."

"I'll miss you too dear and now l will loose another daughter."

"We will always chat on the phone, right."

"Yeah you're right but still l will miss seeing your face everyday."

"Mrs Martha since when did you become this emotional"

"Since now that l am leaving."

I went home after a long goodbye l had with Mrs Martha. I have to find a job soon, sighing l sat on my bed before my stomach rumbled .

I am so hungry right now but what to eat? I thought looking in the fridge before l heard a knock on my door. Who could that be?

Opening the door l saw all four of them holding many plastic bags.

"Come in and welcome to my humble abode." I said rolling my eyes at them. Since when did they start knocking on my door.

"Hi guys, so what brings you here?"

"Aren't we allowed to visit a friend with snacks."

"What! these are snacks. I we having a  snack feast here today?" I said with shocked by the snacks they brough, l mean they brought about six big plastic bags of snacks.

"We came prepared coz we know some of us have a big appetite besides if you don't finish, we will finish it for you."

"You boys must start eating an appropriate potion of food coz you might have obesity at your age."

"Our bodies won't get fat even if we eat all the food in the world, one of the perks of being a werewolf."

"We came here for a movie night, is that okay with you?"

"Yeah it's ok. Let's organise the living first."

We all went to the living room and removed the table, made a wide space and put bin bags and switched off the lights.

We going to watch a horror film so to make more scary the lights must be switched off.
