I headed out the side door and walked down the side of the house before catching sight of everyone in the backyard.

Ryan and my dad were sitting on the hot tub, their legs in the water as they sipped their beers.

Blake and my mom were sitting up on two of the sun loungers, drinking lemonade and talking.

Tanner and Whiskey was playing in the pool while Leena and Del were laying fully down on two sun loungers, hair up, sunglasses on, and glasses of cold lemonade on a table beside them.

Del had a book in her hand as her and Leena talked a bit, Leena dozing off after putting sun screen on.

Delphi was in one of her favorite bathing suits that she told me her and Abby had bought one day a while ago.

(Shoutout whoever linked that on my profile thingy idk what it's called but yeah cause I couldn't find one)

I walked over and sat on the end of her chair and sat down, looking over at her.

She didn't say hi or anything so I resorted to asking her questions. "Whatcha reading?"

She simply showed me the cover of the book- which by the way was something called The Inheritance Games.

"Did I do something wrong? Why aren't you talking?" I questioned.

"You didn't do anything wrong, I'm just trying to read my book." Delphi laughed, bookmarking her page.

"We should go get me some swim trunks because I wanna go swimming." I told her, taking a drink of her lemonade.

"Go ask your mom to take us then." Delphi told me, taking her lemonade away from me.

So we were currently at the mall with Blake walking around, looking for anywhere that could possibly have swimsuits, but we found a snack shop instead.

"Somehow we always find the snacks." Delphi laughed as she took a picture in the circle mirror thing in the corner.

"Come on, let's go actually find me something." I said, grabbing her hand and going to find her mom.

Eventually we found the only store in the mall that had a bathing suit section and Blake bought me one, even though I put up an argument about me paying for it myself.

We got back in the car and drove back to Del's house, where I went inside and changed into my swim trunks while she went through the gate to the backyard.

When I went back outside, I was very surprised to see Mo and Abby in the backyard with everyone.

"Oh, Walker's here." Momona said, jokingly disappointed as I walked over, once again sitting on the end of Del's lounge chair.

"I thought you wanted to swim." Delphi laughed as I laid back on her legs.

"Yeah I do but not by myself." I told her, looking at where Tanner and Whiskey were playing fetch, along with Betty and Inez, who were chasing Whiskey while James swam back and forth in the middle part of the pool.

"Let me finish this chapter then I'll come swim with you, I only have a page or two left." Delphi offered, making me nod.

"When did you two get here?" I asked Abby and Mo, who had pulled up the other 2 chairs next to Del and Leena.

"Few minutes before you guys got back." Abby told me. "Can't believe you didn't bring a swim suit."

"It is fucking December." I reminded her, rolling my eyes.

"The pool is heated." Momona argued back.

"Okay, I'm gonna end that there, let's go swim." Delphi spoke up, bookmarking her page and setting down her book once more before walking toward the pool.

"You are not walking in normally." I rolled my eyes at her, pulling her up to the top of the hot tub with me so we could jump in.

I started to take off my shirt so it didn't get wet, but Ryan stopped me.

"Nuh uh, shirt stays on." Ryan ordered. "Dellie doesn't need to see you shirtless."

"She already has though." I smirk at him, yelling in surprise when he pushes me off the hot tub and into the pool.

"Was it necessary?" I hear Del ask when I come back up to the surface of the water.

"Oh fuck you Ryan." I laugh, swimming to the part where I can stand before pulling off my now sopping wet shirt and tossing it onto the concrete, flipping off Ryan.

"Betty, sweetie, go get dad your water gun." Ryan told Betty, my eyes widening.

"Hey, we can talk about this." I argued as Betty came running back to Ryan with the water gun, a big smile on her face.

"Dad, leave him alone." Delphi laughed, sitting on the edge of the hot tub.

"Hey hey no. You're jumping in little miss lady." I pointed at her. "Come on."

"Walker, no." She argued, taking off her hat and placing it beside her.

"Why? You scared Del?" I asked jokingly.

"Delphi, come on!" Momona laughed from behind me, walking up next to me.

"I hate you both." She said, setting her sunglasses next to her hat.

"Taking too long." My dad spoke up before pushing her in, Mo and I breaking out laughing as she popped back up.

"Oh I am never ditching Walker to go talk to you ever again." Delphi told my dad before swimming over to me and Mo.

"Peer pressure isn't very nice." She told us.

I smiled at her and wrapped my arms around her waist. "But it is fun." I told her before falling forward, dunking us both under the water.

"Walker Scobell!" She smacked my chest when we came back up. "I am so done with you today."

"I resign from this war." Ryan spoke up, tossing Abby the water gun as she got in the pool.

"You didn't even do anything." Delphi spoke back as she looked up at him on the hot tub.

"You know what I did?" Ryan asked. "I drank 2 beers and took a shot of tequila."

"Ryan, seriously. James is right there, be a better example." Blake scolded him, hitting his head with her book.

"I'm being abused." Ryan muttered.
