CHAPTER 25

Yuri slowly awoke to find an empty bed. The movie watching last night got cancelled 'cause when Yuri came out of the bathroom, Tasha was already asleep. Things kinda became awkward between them when Tasha asked about Kaley. Truth be told, after what Brenda said before, she kinda hesitated to tell Tasha her past, afraid that Tasha might use it to further manipulate her. That is if what Brenda said was true.

Yuri sat at the corner of the bed and placed her face into her palms, "is it bad that I'm being careful around Tasha?"

A quick trip to the bathroom later, Yuri went to the kitchen and saw Yumi and Tasha chatting and having breakfast together

"Hey Yul! Perfect timing, join us" Yumi said, placing another mug of hot chocolate near an empty seat between her and Tasha

Yuri nodded and sat down

"Good morning Yuri" Tasha greeted with a bright smile

"G-good morning " Yuri answered, suddenly feeling flustered. Seeing Tasha like this, hair down and slightly messy and make-up less face, she looked gorgeous. So gorgeous that Yuri instantly felt shy when Tasha smiled at her

"Dad left early but he said if you and Tasha wanted to stroll around town, he already put some gas on your motorcycle" she said, placing a plate of waffles with whipped cream and chocolate syrup, "Tasha made the waffles by the way"

Yuri turned to Tasha, "You did?"

The girl nodded, "I woke up a little early and when I went here to get a glass of water, sir Tony was already up and making coffee so I asked him if I could make some waffles"

"Is that so? um, thanks"

"You're welcome"

Yumi then excused herself as she pulled out her ringing phone from her pocket, leaving the two girls in a quiet state

"Um, sorry Yuri..." Tasha softly spoke

Yuri looked at her as she continued to speak, "I was actually going to apologize last night but... I, uh, fell asleep while waiting for you"

Yuri stared at the other girl, the thought of Tasha planning to apologize but couldn't fight her sleepiness, highly amused her. Her lips slowly curved into an amused smile, "These waffles are delicious by the way"

And with that look, Tasha knew that everything between them was okay again and she felt much relief 

"So, want to go around town later?" Yuri asked, finishing her last bite of waffles

"Sure! Let's bring Yumi along"

Yuri nodded as she drank her chocolate drink

Yumi then came back in and sighed, "unfortunately, I can't go with you guys"

The two girls turned with surprise then disappointment

"What? Why?" Yuri asked

"My team leader called, they needed more agents at the office, so I have to go back to work later"

"Can you like take a leave just for today?" Tasha suggested

"I can't do that, the leave I requested are for holidays and I would really like to spend it with this little dork" answered Yumi, ruffling her sister's short hair

Yuri grabbed her sister's hand and playfully pretend-bite it. Yumi chuckled as she quickly pulled away hand

"But I will still cook lunch for you two nerds and we can eat and chat more" Yumi said with her usual optimism
