CHAPTER 16

As the tennis ball machine threw balls in the air, an energetic Yuri had been running all over the place, hitting every tennis ball that comes her way. Droplets of sweat covered Yuri’s forehead when she decided to take a water break

Yuri was sitting at the benches, slightly panting as she drank her water bottle. A shadow then appeared next to her, successfully gaining her attention, she looked back and saw a girl with long hair, dressed in volleyball jersey shorts and a white t-shirt. It was Gretchen, a classmate from one of Yuri’s classes and the team captain of the school’s volleyball team

“Hey you” Gretchen greeted as she approached Yuri

“Hey Gretch” Yuri smirked

“That’s was one heck of a practice you did there” Gretchen commented as she noticed the balls scattered at the tennis court

“I didn’t know you were watching me practice”

“It’s kind of hard not to, I was walking by and I saw you running all over the place!” Gretchen chuckled, “I did enjoy watching you”

Yuri just smiled at Gretchen’s remark

Gretchen then sat next to Yuri, “something wrong?”

“Nah, something just happened earlier, it really pissed me off though”

“Hmm...Wanna talk about it?”

Yuri shook her head, “it’s no big deal, I’m basically over it anyway” she said then looked at Gretchen, “Hey. Are you gonna watch my tennis match later?”

“Of course, wouldn’t miss it” Gretchen smiled, “and you’ll watch our game tomorrow too right?”

“Yeah definitely” Yuri smiled

And Gretchen looked on further as Yuri smiled

“What?” Yuri asked when she noticed Gretchen staring ”is there something on my face?”

“You’re even prettier when you smile. No wonder there’s a lot of people who have a crush on you”

Yuri scoffed and slightly shooked her head in disagreement while Gretchen smiled at what to her is a cute gesture

“Oh just so you know, if you lose, I’m required to hit the shit out of Felix for not being a good team captain” Gretchen jokingly stated, “it’s like a rule for all team captains here, so don’t ask why”

Yuri chuckled, “But what if I win?”

“If you win then you are required to go hang out with me for some milk tea afterwards, my treat”

Yuri stared at the girl next to her, thankful that she was able to lift her mood and distract her from the earlier events, “alright” she said, “let’s go out later”

During classes, Tasha can’t help wonder and worry as well about Yuri. Is Yuri still mad at her? Why would she be mad at her anyway? Brenda was the one who did all the talking earlier and did Brenda already apologized? All these questions kept running in Tasha’s mind that she did not understood any of the lessons in her classes

Meanwhile, Brenda was making a script in her head as she looked around for Yuri. Its around lunchtime so she was sure Yuri wouldn’t be in any class.

“Ugh! Where could that stupid girl be!”

As she turned the corner, Brenda heard a conversation that instantly caught her interest

“Really? You guys are going out later after the match?” a girl asked
