CHAPTER 6

It's after hell-week so the students at Danford University are able to relax until midterms that is. After meeting at the library and going out on a few friendly dates this past 3 weeks. Amber and Toby have gotten to know each other more and gained even more interest in each other. Now exclusively dating but not yet a couple, the two decided to take things slow

"Now that I've gotten to know you better, I see that people mostly have the wrong opinion about you" Toby said as he drank his milkshake

Amber raised her brow in curiosity, "How so? What do people say about me?"

"It's not only you, it's the three of you, since you know, "trio of goddesses" and all"

Amber curious expression turned sad mixed with dismayed, "yeah..."

Which Toby instantly noticed, "Can I ask you something?"

Amber looked to him and nodded

"Don't take this personally okay but are you happy? With all of the things you guys do?" he asked

Amber answered, "Personally, no. the stereotype people made about the three us, I don't like it and I wish I could change it"

"Then change it" Toby spoke, "the thing I noticed about you is that you change when you're around Tasha and Brenda, it's like you transform into a whole new person, but when you're with me, you're just perfect"

Amber smiled and playfully rolled her eyes "Yeah, I know" she then sighed, "but I can't really leave them. They're my best friends since freshman year she then slyly looked at Toby and playfully pointed at him, "You're not gonna make me choose between you and my friends are you? because I'm gonna smack you if you do"

Toby giggled, "Of course not, as long as you don't make me choose either"

Amber smiled and Toby held her hand and smiled back

"Nice work today Valdez!"

Yuri turned and saw Felix smiling as he sat beside her at the courtside, "Thanks captain!"

It's been over two weeks since Yuri began training for tennis and she it felt like she was her old self again, at least for a few hours. Felix had been helping her catch-up and because of that, the two established a friendship, although Yuri sensed that Felix would like to pursue more

"So, I was wondering if you would like to eat dinner with me, if you know, you don't have anything planned" Felix asked as confidently as he could

"Are you asking me out on a date Felix?" Yuri asked blatantly, she figured, it'd be better if he found out she is gay before actually starting to pursue her

And with that question, Felix was caught off guard, "um..well...y-yeah, I guess so" he answered

Yuri smiled politely, "Thank you for asking Felix, but I'm not really interested in dating guys"

Felix remained silent as Yuri continued, "You see, I'm gay but I'm flattered that you asked me, so thank you and I'm really sorry"

Felix was surprised at Yuri's revelation, "You're gay? Wow, that's, um, great! Thanks for telling me early"

"I know I've embarrassed you so you don't have to act, you can just tell me exactly what you think, even if it's negative, I can handle it"

Felix sighed and smiled at Yuri, "I'm not gonna lie, I am embarrassed and I had my hopes up but it's good that you told me the truth and didn't try to hide, so I'm still thankful"
