My Hero

Chapter 3

Audrey's POV

I have to admit, Samuel is very attractive, and he actually listens to everything I say. No one has ever done that for me. He actually takes interest in what I have to say. I still have to be careful around him though. I can't let Katie and I get hurt again.

It's 2:30 and I'm on my way to get Katie from school. Once I get there, I park and go inside. When I get to the classroom, I see Samuel sitting on the carpet talking with Katie and Jake. Both Katie and Jake can't stop laughing. I stand there for a few more minutes, until Katie spots me and runs over.

"Mommy!"

"Hey baby, how was your day?" I asked hugging her.

"Really good! Jake and I get to sit by each other!" She beamed.

"Well that's good! So you made some friends today?"

"Mhmm. Well Jake is all, but that's all I need!" She said smiling

"Well go grab your book bag so we can leave."

"Okay, let me tell Jake bye!" She said running off.

As soon as Katie ran off, Samuel walked up beside me. I could feel my body start to tingle.

"Did Katie have a good day?" He asked

"Yeah! She said that her and Jake get to sit beside each other!" I smiled

"Jake seems pretty excited about that." He laughed.

Katie came running back over;

"Okay, I'm ready! Bye Mr. Samuel, see you tomorrow!" She smiled

"Bye Katie, be careful going home." He smiled back

"Y'all too!" I said turning around and walking to my car.

When we got home, I started making stuff for dinner, and Katie hopped up on the counter.

"Hey mommy, can I ask you something?"

"Yeah, of course. Whatcha got?" I said washing my hands.

"How much do you like Mr. Samuel?"

"What?" I shockingly asked

"I mean, I know you like him, but how much?"

"Well he is very nice to you and I. And he's quite funny, since you're asking" I smiled.

"You're not gonna mention how cute he is?" She smiled

"KATIE!!!" I laughed

"He is!!"

"Yes, he is very cute." I said softly

"You should date him." She said looking up at me.

"Oh really?" I laughed

"Mhmm. I like him. Plus Jake and I are friends, so when he comes over or we go over to his house, I'll have something to keep out of y'all's way." She beamed.

"Well my goodness, you've got this all figured out don't you?"

"I sure do! Y'all are going to get married"

"Oh my goodness, go get your shower so we can eat!" I said picking her up, and kissing her forehead.
