Chapter 5

Audrey's POV

Oh man. I just kissed Samuel on the cheek. What was I thinking. But he didn't mind, so it's okay. Right now I'm showing him around my house, while Katie and Jake are watching tv in the living room.

"You're house is amazing." He said, as we walked back downstairs.

"Thank you. I let Katie pick out a lot of the things around here. So it makes her feel at home too." I smiled.

"That's awesome."

I walked into the kitchen to get a glass of water, when I overheard Katie and Jake talking.

"Even if your mom and my dad don't get married, we'll always be best friends!" Jake said

"Right! But I really hope they do." Katie said

"Me too!" I could tell Jake was smiling .

Samuel walked in and said;

"Hey sorry about Jake and the whole marriage thing. He's always talking about me getting a girlfriend, and marrying her." He sighed

"It's totally fine. Katie does the same thing. They're kids, they think everyone you hangout with is the person you're going to marry." I laughed

"Maybe they're right this time." He smirked

"Hmm... are you saying you like me Mr. Samuel?" I teased

"Well, Ms. Audrey, if I did it's not like you like me back..." He said looking away.

I walked over to him, and put my hands on his upper arms, from behind and said;

"I don't dress nice for just anyone."

"Well in that case.." He said turning around.

I could feel my heartbeat speeding up, as he got closer to me.

"If you don't mind..." He said getting closer

"I'm going to kiss you.." He whispered this time.

I grabbed the counter to steady myself, and when he got as close as he could...

"Mommy, what are y'all doing?" Katie asked.

"Ohh..Katie..uhm...I uh had something in my eye and Samuel was helping me get it out."

"Riiiiight. Y'all were about to kiss weren't you?" She smiled

"What? No. " I nervously laughed

"Hey, you don't have to hide it from us!" She laughed.

"Alright, well is everyone ready to go?" Samuel laughed

"Yes!" We all said

When we got into his truck we started heading to the restaurant. Samuel reached over and grabbed my hand, and rested our hands on his thigh. When we got to the restaurant, he ran around and opened the front and back door for Katie and I.

"Thanks Mr. Samuel!" Katie said getting out and running over to Jake.

"Yeah, thanks Mr. Samuel" I laughed

As I was getting out of the truck, Samuel grabbed my hand and leaned me against the said of the truck. He leaned in and kissed my cheek, and said;

"I can't wait to show you and Katie off tonight!"

I couldn't help but smile. This man has me falling harder for him everyday.

We got seated, with the kids sitting beside each other and Samuel and I sitting beside each other.

"Hi guys, my name is Lisa and I'll be your waiter tonight. What can I get you guys to drink?"

"Sprite!" Katie and Jake said at the same time.

"I'll have a glass of water please." I said

"Sweet tea for me!" Samuel smiled

"Alright then, are y'all ready to order or do you need more time?"

I noticed that Lisa kept staring at Samuel.

"I would like Chicken Fingers and Fries please!" Katie smiled .

"Same!" Jake said

"Can I get a club sandwich, and a side Caesar salad please." I said handing her my menu.

"And I'll take a cheeseburger please!" Samuel said handing her the rest of the menus.

"Alright, I'll go put the order in." She said smiling at Samuel.

Katie and Jake were coloring on the kids menus.

"I think Lisa likes you." I teased looking up at Samuel.

"Well that's too bad cause I've only got eyes for two girls in here." He said rubbing his hands together.

"Oh, two huh?"

"You and Katie!"

"You just keep getting sweeter by the minute!" I smiled

He reached over and grabbed my hand, resting it on my leg this time. He started rubbing circles with his thumb, and I couldn't help but smile. I noticed Katie looking at me, and she started smiling at me. I stuck my tongue out at her and she started laughing. She got up and walked to Samuel and whispered something in his ear and they both smiled, while he squeezed my hand. Our food came out, and we all small talked while we ate. I can't wait for the rest of the night with them!
