Lily pov

I told my dad about Jodie and how she treated me and he left me, he told me that he would never leave me, he is all that i have left if he leaves me i have no one else

When he left Scarlett came over and hugged me telling me it was all going to be okay, her voice was so calming it nearly made me believe her, i dont want to become attached to her and she leaves me like my dad and mom

We ended up watching age of ultron and i know Scarlett was not impressed of watching herself on the screen but she did it to make me happy which made me happy even though i was still cautious, this is how it started with Jodie last time she acted all nice giving me cuddles and telling me she was going to be my new mom

I want to believe that Scarlett is different but something is stopping me from believing her when she tells me that she would never leave and she promised me that dad does not hate me

*2 hours later*

Scarletts pov

The movie had now finished, Lily had fallen asleep on me, i know she is tired because panic attacks can me mentally and physically exhausting so she must be so tired

I texted Colin a few times and he didnt respond back, its been 2 hours since he had left and he hadn't bothered coming back to see how his child was

I shuffled Lily onto the couch and put the pillow under her neck so it doesnt hurt and grabbed a blanket for her and i made my way to the kitchen to start making some dinner for us, i was starting to make lemon chicken with roast potatoes and green beans when i heard the whimpering coming from the couch

I immediately knew that Lily was having an nightmare and i quickly stroked her head making her calm down and she began to stir awake, her gorgeous icy blue eyes staring at me

A smile crept on my lips and i continued to look down at her, i feel so terrible for this little girl even at 13 she is so wise for her age and she has been through so much even with today and her father certainly did not help the situation by storming out making Lily feel like a burden and i cant imagine how she is feeling, she might be feeling scared being with me because of Jodie, she might be scared because i am looking after her and comforting her in a way a mother does, is she scared of being left alone with me since we had only met in the morning for the first time

I was broken out of my trance with the little blonde girl speaking

"Hi Scarly is dad home yet" Lily asked me with a sad smile, i smiled softly at her and shook my head sadly and i could tell that is was affecting her that Colin decided to run away instead of making sure Lily was okay

"Its okay baby, he will be here soon don't you worry and i have a very important question for my favourite munchkin"

"Who me?" Lily asked with pure confusion on her face, she didnt believe me, my heart broke that she doesnt believe what people are telling her anymore because of that evil witch that abused her

"Yes you silly" i said bopping her nose with my finger " Do you think that we should have a sleepover in your room tonight, we can do some skincare stuff and then we can cuddle in bed and watch another movie, how does that sound sweetheart?" Lily sat there with a blank expression on her face, i can see her brain trying to figure out if to let me in or to shut me out

I broke the silence with "Sweet girl sorry if i overstepped, if you dont wanna do it its okay but im not going to leave you okay" Lily looked up and nodded, i brought her close to my chest and i heard a faint whisper of "yes", i chuckled not understanding why she was saying yes

"What do u mean sweet girl?" i asked cupping her face to look at me and she stares at me with a big cheeky smile on her face " I want to have a sleepover with you Scarly" i kissed the top of her head and stood up reaching for her hand

Lily took my hand and i dragged her all the way to the kitchen so she could sit on the barstool and watch me serve up dinner

"Lils, dinner is ready if you want some i made some lemon chicken with some roast potatoes" she replied with a nod on her head confirming that she wanted some of the dinner

We sat down on the kitchen table and this time instead of sitting opposite eachtoher we sat next to each other and we started a conversation, talking about what we do and our hobbies

"So Lils what grade are you in" I asked her with a small smile on my face trying to start a conversation to get to know her a little bit more

"Im in seventh grade now sadly, it is so boring most of the time, i only mainly go to school to see my friends without them i would never go to school and i would skip" Lily rambled on about her school

"I hope that you dont start skipping school on purpose young lady, i will always find out" I said sending her a quick black widow glare and by the way her smile dropped i could tell that she was scared of that glare, something that i could use in the future

"Sorry Scarly i do try and stay in school but sometimes its just too much for me and i have loads of panic attacks" Lily rambled on again trying to find reasoning for the skipping off school, i could tell that she was lying but i didn't want to bring it up and i could never tell a Colin otherwise he would storm out again
