    Kim's  POV
   FLASH BACK
I stormed into the room, anger boiling inside me. "What the hell are you doing, Dad?" I couldn't believe he was actually planning to kill Uncle and Aunt Smith, along with their entire family.

"Kim Cavill, watch your mouth, you're still talking to your father" he snapped, his voice cold and authoritative.

"Which father are you referring to? The one I know would never betray his best friend!" My heart raced as I confronted him.

Without warning, he struck me across the face. "Don't you dare speak to me like that! I'm doing this for you. Once they're out of the picture, you'll be the new mafia king!"

"For me? Are you insane? I never wanted this!" I shot back, my disbelief morphing into defiance.

"You've disappointed me! I was prepared to make you king, but you..." He couldn't finish his sentence before I interrupted.

"I won't let you hurt them! I'm going to warn them!" But he only smirked, signaling to five men lurking in the shadows.

"Take him to his room and keep him there," he commanded. They seized me, dragging me away despite my struggles.

For three agonizing hours, I remained locked up, praying that my father would have a change of heart. Finally, he entered, a smug grin on his face.

"So, how does it feel to be the new king of the mafia?" he mocked. My stomach dropped at his words.

"Please tell me you didn't kill them!" I pleaded, tears brimming in my eyes.

"Why are you crying for them?" He laughed, dismissing my fear.

Before I could respond, one of his men burst in, panic written all over his face. "Sir, I need to speak with you!"

"Speak!" my father barked, his irritation palpable.

"In the car, it was only Mr. and Mrs. Smith," the man stammered.

My father's rage ignited. "That means Bright and his damn brothers are still alive!" He started smashing things in a fit of fury, but I couldn't help but laugh.

"Looks like I'm not the king after all. You've failed," I taunted, a rush of defiance flooding through me.

"Everyone, out!" he shouted, expelling his men from the room.

"Kim, listen carefully. If I'm still alive, I'll make sure you become the king," he said, but I just smiled, feeling victorious.

"Seems luck isn't on your side," I replied, relishing the moment.

"Let me explain, my dear Kim. I'll ensure Bright believes you killed his parents, not me. That way, he'll hate you, and you two will be rivals," he explained coldly.

"Dad, why are you doing this?" I asked, but he simply turned and left

    END OF THE FLASH BACK

   Grace's POV
"Wait, so you didn't kill his parents?" I asked, trying to process his words.

"No, it was my father, not me," he replied, his gaze dropping to the floor.

I felt a mix of relief and confusion. "And what about that day when you kidnapped his brothers?" I pressed, needing to understand the full story.

"I assume Bright filled you in," he said, his voice heavy. "He mentioned that I pushed his brother from the third floor."

   Kim's POV
"Dad, what are Win and Mick doing here?" I asked, dread pooling in my stomach as I spotted my little brother and Bright's baby brother.
