No one's POV
After three long years, Grace and Bright were finally free to be together without any threats looming over them. The happiness radiating between them was palpable as they cuddled on the sofa in Bright's office, savoring the precious moments they had missed during their time apart."I could stay like this forever," Bright murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. He held Grace tightly, as if afraid she might slip away from him if he let his guard down.
"Bright, about the position I was applying for... I don't want you to choose me just because you know me. I want you to decide if you think I deserve it," Grace replied, a seriousness creeping into her tone. Bright chuckled softly, the familiar spark of Grace shining through. This was the girl he had fallen in love with, the one who always sought to earn her place through hard work.
"I know that, sweetheart, and I absolutely believe you deserve it. Though, I have to admit, I might get a little distracted with you around," he teased, his tone light but filled with warmth. Grace was too precious to him, like a treasure he could never let go of.
Though she understood he was joking, Grace felt an urge to prove herself on her own merit, independent of their relationship. "Are you sure, Bright?" she asked, uncertainty lacing her voice. She had felt confident at the beginning of the interview, but knowing that Bright was the CEO had made things complicated.
Hearing her hesitation, Bright rubbed her back gently. "I'm 200% sure. I want you to have the position, and no one else. It's not just because it's you; I know you're a smart student with the skills to match."
Grace nodded slowly, accepting his reassurance and the opportunity. "How could I not take the position when the entire design of this company is tailored to my taste?" she remarked, a smile breaking through as she realized just how much thought he had put into it.
Bright had built the entire place with her preferences in mind, and now it all made sense,no wonder she had felt at home the moment she stepped inside.
Bright's POV
I had built my company with Grace's taste in mind, drawing on everything I learned about her preferences during our time together. It was a chance to create a space that felt like her, and when I told her, I could see the surprise in her eyes. They softened, but she didn't say anything."Do you like it?" I asked, looking deep into her eyes as my fingers gently ran through her soft hair, keeping her close. She nodded slowly and replied, "Yes, I like it damn too much!" Her smile lit up my heart, and I couldn't help but grin. I'd do anything in the world to see her face light up like that, to bask in the glow of her happiness.
"I'd give the world for you to smile like this forever, princess," I murmured, almost as if it were a secret. I wanted her to know how far I'd go to keep her safe and happy.
"So, do you accept the position to work with me for your internship?" I asked, hoping she would say yes. The thought of having her by my side every day filled me with a warmth I hadn't felt in years. I knew I'd be lost if she rejected my offer, but thankfully, she nodded in agreement.
After a few minutes of comfortable silence, just enjoying each other's presence, Grace suddenly asked, "Mick and Win, how are they?" I hadn't expected her to bring up my little brothers, but a warm smile spread across my face. I was glad she hadn't forgotten them and still cared about their lives after all this time.
"They're fine. They've grown so much in these three years; you won't recognize them when you meet them." I ruffled her hair playfully, knowing full well she'd recognize them even after fifty years. The thought of her reaction, all pouty and annoyed, made me chuckle.
"I'll always recognize them, even if one day I go blind," she shot back, pouting like a child denied candy, those beautiful lips forming the perfect expression. I laughed softly, enjoying the moment I had created, knowing she was exactly where I wanted her to be.
"I'm just joking, princess. I know you always will."
Grace's POV
Bright was teasing me again, trying to get under my skin, but honestly, I loved it,though I'd never admit that. I missed his playful banter so much that, despite my best efforts to maintain my pout, my mood began to brighten."Can I see them?" I asked, the longing for Win and Mick bubbling to the surface. It surprised Bright, but deep down, I hoped they would remember me as well. He chuckled, and after a moment, he nodded. "Of course you can."
My heart soared at his response, and my smile widened. I had missed them so much. "When can we go?" I asked eagerly, hoping it would be soon.
Bright fell silent for a moment, deep in thought. Then, suddenly, he said, "What about right now?" He jumped up from the sofa, surprising me as he started to pull me out of his office.
"Are we really going to see them right now? But what about your work?" I protested, still caught off guard by his enthusiasm. He didn't slow down, dragging me along until he abruptly stopped.
"You said you wanted to see them, so we're going now!" he insisted, a playful glint in his eyes. I couldn't help but laugh, feeling a rush of excitement at the thought of being reunited with my brothers.
No one's POV
Bright pulled Grace through the bustling office, unfazed by the curious glances from his colleagues. Their surprise was palpable; the "Young Billionaire CEO," known for being ruthless, cold, and emotionless, was now completely transformed, displaying a softness and care that was unexpected.
As they walked toward the parking lot, Grace's eyes widened when she spotted the car. "Bright, is this the one you gave me that day?" (read the "first kiss" chapter if you don't remember) Her astonishment was clear as she looked at the red Ferrari he had gifted her three years ago.
Bright nodded, a smile spreading across his face at her reaction. He had kept the car all this time, and seeing her surprised was worth it. He was determined to collect everything that belonged to Grace, her laughter, her joy, her presence. If he could, he would bottle her up and keep her close forever, cherishing every moment they had together.
