Two days later, without fault, it was my turn to be sick.

And it turned out I was way more dramatic than Leah was when it came to sickness.

"Leah...?" I asked, my voice sore.

"Shh, baby, it's okay I'm here." Leah sat down on the floor so her head was in front of mine, as I was laying under the covers of the bed.

"Le, I don't want to die, Le..."

"You're not going to die goofball, it's just a cold, everything's gonna be alright, okay?" She whispered, gently caressing my cheek and forehead.

"If I die... don't let my mom bury me in a dress. I want a tuxedo... and sneakers."

"Tuxedo and sneakers. Got it." Leah chuckled. "What kind of sneakers?" she asked, obviously trying to distract me.

"Jordans," I mumbled, wiping my nose with the back of my hand, electing a scrunch in disgust from my girlfriend. "Air Jordan ones. Them... them red and white ones. Like arsenal."

Leah let out a soft chuckle at my choice of footwear, her fingers continuing to gently stroke my forehead as she nodded in agreement. "Got it, Air Jordan ones, red and white. Just like Arsenal," she replied, her voice warm with affection as she leaned in to press a soft kiss against my temple.

I let out a weak chuckle at Leah's response, feeling a surge of gratitude and warmth wash over me at her comforting presence. "Thanks, babe," I murmured, my voice hoarse as I reached out to squeeze her hand gently. "You're the best."

Leah smiled softly at my words, her eyes shining with tenderness as she pressed a gentle kiss on the back of my hand. "Anything for you, love," she whispered, her voice filled with sincerity as she settled back beside me.

"I don't know what I'd do without you," I
admitted, my voice barely above a whisper as I snuggled closer to Leah, seeking out the warmth and comfort of her embrace.

Leah's smile widened at my words, her fingers gently combing through my hair as she held me close. "You'll never have to find out," she replied, her voice filled with reassurance as she pressed a soft kiss against my forehead.

"Are you proposing to me?" I asked, and Leah laughed, shaking her head.

"How about we wait a few years before I propose to you, yeah?" She replied, her laughter filling the room.

"That sounds like it's in forever..." I pouted, feeling a playful twinge of disappointment at Leah's response.

Leah chuckled softly, her fingers tracing gentle circles on my cheek as she met my gaze with a warm smile. "Hey, it'll be worth the wait, I promise," she reassured, her voice filled with genuine affection as she leaned in to press a soft kiss against my lips.

I couldn't help but smile at Leah's words, feeling a surge of warmth and gratitude wash over me at her unwavering love and support. "Okay," I replied, my voice soft with affection as I reached out to intertwine my fingers with hers. "I trust you."

Leah's smile widened at my response, her eyes shining with tenderness as she squeezed my hand gently. "I love you," she whispered, her voice filled with sincerity as she leaned in to rest her forehead against mine.

"I love you too," I murmured. "Are you going to training now?"

"Mh hm," Leah nodded. "I gotta leave in..." She looked at her watch, then back at me. "Five minutes."

"Hey, since when you've got a watch?" I asked, frowning.

"What do you mean?" She asked me, laughing softly. "I always had a watch."

One day I'll have it all. // WilliamsonWhere stories live. Discover now
