AN: I've recently been watching the anime Spy X Family (Loid Forger is so Leon Kennedy coded!) so this imagine is loosely based on an aspect of it!
---------------------------------------------------------I sit at my desk as usual, typing up unfinished reports and arranging Agent Leon Kennedy's missions in order of importance when the man himself walks past heading towards his own office. I stand quick, saving the file I'm working on before rushing to grab him a coffee just the way he likes, barely three minutes later I step into his office with a genuine smile on my face. I've always liked working for Leon, I'm not a secret agent like him- though I am trained in aspects that I might one day need- I prefer to sit behind a desk and do the 'boring' parts of his job for him. Leon glances up at me from behind his desk as I set his favourite mug down that I bought him last Christmas.
"Long morning already?" I ask, tilting my head as I take in his look of frustration. He huffs out a laugh, pinching the bridge of his nose as his blue eyes lift to mine.
"You have no idea. I'm actually in need of a wife." He mumbles with sincerity. I let out a small laugh, blinking at him as if he's finally gone insane, but nothing on Leon's face shows signs of joking. My laughter dies as his lips quirk, an odd reversal of roles.
"Well, you're a handsome man, I'm sure any woman would jump at the chance." I reply softly, tucking my hair behind my ear as a small blush finds its way to my cheeks. Leon's eyes narrow at me, then he sits up straighter as his face softens. I arch my brow, waiting for him to explain why he's acting strange.
"Would you?"
"Would I...?" I lead off, already knowing where this is going but I want the thrill of hearing him ask.
"Would you be my wife?"
"And they say romance is dead," I muse, watching as Leon awkwardly shifts in his chair, waiting for an answer, "I'll consider it, but can I ask why you need a wife all of a sudden? I think there's still hope for you yet Leon." I ask, perching on the edge of his desk as he leans back, running a hand over his face. The stress of his current mission must be getting to him quite bad.
"I need to go undercover to gather some evidence on a dangerous bioterrorist. There's an upcoming party he's hosting, but for that I need to fit a certain criteria, as well as make some previous appearances beforehand to make it seem legitimate. It's just for the mission, a few weeks tops, and I'll make sure you get paid for it." Leon explains as I listen. I could do with the extra money, and marrying Leon doesn't seem too much of a terrible idea- though I'll never ever admit that to him or anyone alive. It's an insane idea, but it definetly has more pros than cons.
"Okay, I'm in." I say with more bravado than I feel. Leon nods as if we're merely discussing dinner plans before he stands up and reaches for his suit jacket.
"Good. Let's go pick out some rings then and get married at the town hall around lunchtime."
"Now?!" I exclaim, stumbling as I stand. Leon catches my arm before I completely tip over, his expression filled with concern and amusement. He nods, releasing me as I blow out a breath. Leon reaches out, fixing a stray strand as I look up at him.
"I haven't got time to waste Y/N, so if we're doing this it needs to be quick. I'm sorry it's probably not the first marriage you've dreamed of." Leon mumbles, stepping back as he heads for the door. I chew on my lip, following him close behind as we walk through the corridors of our work, none of our colleagues have a clue that we're about to go get married, it's actually kind of funny, but I'm sure I'll regret it later. I snatch up my purse and coat on the way out, then side by side Leon and I head to the local jewellers, where we pick out affordable but nice rings for each other. We discuss styles like it's nothing, earning peculiar looks from the jeweller as he asks about our upcoming engagement, the poor man almost has a heart attack when we tell him we're off to get married within the next few hours. We pay for each others' rings then walk out hand in hand, something about it feeling oddly right despite the lack of feelings on Leon's half.
