"Immortals"- Fall Out Boy

******

"Hey Matty," a soft voice says as I pick up the phone, and I groan and roll over. "Matty?"

"What?" I answer weakly, not in the mood to talk at 10 past 2. "Go away and let me sleep, (y/n)." Although I really want to talk, I also really need the sleep. She laughs quietly,

"I just wanted to see if you were up for a late-night adventure to the pond."

"Tempting, but I'm really tired," I groan.

"Playoffs for school aren't till Sunday, and it's Friday---actually, Saturday morning...you gotta come with me! Pleeeeeease?" (y/n) begs, and I sigh. "Are you afraid?" I frown and stand up, answering,

"Of what?"

"Getting caught..."

"Oh, ha, no," I laugh, changing into day clothes and slipping out the window onto my porch. "Where are you, by the way?" I can hear the smile in (y/n)'s voice as she says,

"Outside your house. Having fun with that window?" I roll my eyes and look to the road, where she's parked. She gives me a little wave as I step onto the tree branch and climb down. I hang up as I run across the street and look in the window of her car.

"Hello!" (y/n) was looking the other way when I ran up, so I surprised her by banging on the window.

"Holy f*ck, Matt, I'm gonna kill you!" She shouts as I laugh and walk to the passenger door. I tug on the door handle: locked. I pout and beg,

"Can you let me in?" She shakes her head, pointing to the roof. "I'm sorry!" I stand outside in the cold for about 5 minutes before she actually lets me in.

"I'm still upset," (y/n) says, pretending to be angry. "You know I hate it when people scare me." I smirk,

"You were scared?"

"No! Of course not, I never said that!"

"Sure..."

"Shut up, Matt," she recovers, and I grin and stare at her as she drives. "Can you not stare at me?"

"Why?" I ask, leaning in closer. "Do I distract you?" (y/n) laughs nervously,

"No, you're just annoying." I pout, thinking of how I can get her to admit she likes me. I'm nearly positive sure she does, and I like her back. We've been friends since kindergarten, and I've had a crush on her since 5th grade. Now that we're in 11th grade, my attraction has gotten...stronger.

When we arrive at the pond, (y/n) grabs a bag, hopping out first and running to the dock. I rush after her, sitting beside her and looking out at the water in silence. "Want a Kiss?" She asks after a while, and I'm stunned.

"Wha-what?" I stutter, looking over in confusion. (y/n) is confused for a moment, then begins to laugh hysterically. I'm confused too until she sputters,

"You-you though I meant--ha! I'm talking --oh God!-- about the candy--chocolate!" My heart drops and I feel humiliated as her giggles die down. "Anyway, do you want some chocolate?" I shrug, answering quietly,

"Alright."

"Are you sad cause I didn't mean what you thought I did?" I stiffen, chewing on my lip and not responding. "I'll take that as a yes." (y/n) pops a Hershey Kiss in her mouth as I slowly turn to look at her.

"Yes," I whisper. "I am very upset...are we best friends, or do you feel a connection." She stares at me blankly, remarking,

"Are you saying what I think you are?" I don't answer in words, wrapping my arms around her waist and pulling her into a rough kiss. (y/n) is shocked but kisses me back, moving her hands to the back of my neck to tug me closer. I can taste the chocolate as she lets me slip my tongue in her mouth. I'm impressed at how well she does it, and all of a sudden her hands are on my chest, pushing me backwards.

"Hey!" I shout, falling back into the pond as (y/n) dissolves into another laughing fit.

"And I take that as a yes," she repeats as I grab onto the dock, soaking wet. I smirk and grab her leg, and she yells out as she tumbles in after me. "No fair!" She sputters, splashing me in frustration. "I wasn't supposed to get wet!" Now it's my turn to laugh as I say,

"Payback is a b**ch." I pull (y/n) into a kiss, wet clothes and all. She relents, and I think of how unexpected tonight's events have been. I wouldn't have wanted them any different.

As she releases my lips, I grin and think of how I want this to last forever. We climb onto the dock, and I continue to kiss her, determined to make the night continue as long as I can.
