Chapter 24 Preparations & Nominations

"The Fairy Princess? What's that?" I asked no one in particular. Mirajane smiled at me as she placed my drink in front of me. "Well, in every Magic Parade, we have this special finale where a boy and a girl from our guild, partners up as the 'Royal Magic Heirs'.. They will be riding the last and most grand magic cart" Mira explained.

"Ohh, Ok.." I muttered as an answer. "But how do you choose who's the Fairy Princess?" Lucy asked. Is it just me or did she appear just now?

"We don't really have the Fairy Princess with just plain choosing, there will be a contest between the nominated female mages here, they will be the ones competeting for the title" Mirajane stated. Lucy and I nodded.

"And whoever is the female that wins, will have their own choice of who their 'Prince' will be" Erza said next. Suddenly, "Ehh!?!? Really!?!? Then I should win, for I shall get Gray-sama to be my prince!!!" Juvia exclaimed as she appeared out of nowhere.

Everyone around the table sweat dropped at what she said. "OK, listen up everyone! We will be having our contest for the Fairy Princess the day after tomorrow. As of today, all the male mages will be nominating one female mage of their choice to compete. The top 5 female mages who have the highest votes will be competing on the final round!" Master announced.

And with that, the guild started an all-around conversation about who to nominate, and who to cheer on. I look around more to see what else is happening when I felt a light tap on my shoulder.

"I'd expect you to go up on the stage as one of the Top 5" Natsu said while goofily smiling at me. I chuckled a little and shook my head slightly. "Nope, don't expect impossible things" I said.

"Eh, but why (Y/N)-san!? You're really pretty and you have a good self quality! I'll definitely cheer you on!" Wendy said with a smile. I smile back at her but laugh a little, "well, that is, if I get nominated and join Top 5. But I dont think that will happen." I answered.

"why not?" Gray asked. "Hmm, listen, I hate wearing dresses. I don't like pampering myself. And I extremely despise going up the stage. But why are you even going after me when there's Erza, Mirajane, Lucy, Juvua, Cana, Lisanna and other more prettier girls. Sheesh, if I were you, I'd pick one of them" I explained.

"First of all, you're very beautiful, the most beautiful girl around here and around the world. Second, I'm sure you'd get in because I bet half of the male mage population here would vote you. Third, you're my girlfriend" Natsu said and smiled at the end.

I blushed at what he said. I looked the other way and casually covered half of my face with my right hand by pretending I was leaning my head on my palm. "Still..that doesn't make sense.." I mutter.

"Hahahaha, (Y/N)'s bluuuusshhiing!!!!" Happy exclaimed while laughing hesterically. I got pissed and shot him a glare which shut him up instantly. "I-I'll shut up, Ma'am.." He stuttered.

We laughed at him and it eased my flustered sell a little. "Guys, the nomination is starting. Natsu, Gray, Happy; you can go there and put on your nominations!" Max said as he passed by our table.

The 3 mentioned boys stood up from our table and walked to the said nominating station. "I promise I'd cheer for you, (Y/N)-San!" Wendy said. I smiled at her and patted her head. "You should cheer for the other ones who will surely get in, Wendy. But thanks though" I said. "Trust me, (Y/N), you'd get in for sure" Erza said with a smile.
