Hello everyone,
This is just a short note before the chapter starts, I will be alternating between the POVs of Dan and Nearic for the next few chapters. Dan's side of the story will be what we know of the campaign, while Nearic's will be based on the Side Quest Ideas that were posted by Novalizinpeace on Tumblr, they gave full permission on post but please give them thanks for the ideas.
This chapter is directly inspired by Side Quest #2: Sleepy Cat.
Anyways, enjoy the chapter!

________________________________________________________________________________Nearic lies in a bed within the center of Safe Haven resting, as per Bobby's very insistent instructions, before he yawned and slowly opened his right eye, looking around the red glow of the tent's fabric from the overhead lights.
The boy slowly pushed the blanket off him and repositioned himself to a sitting position, groaning from the dull ache in his left eye and right arm from the movement before yawning again. He slowly got his legs under him and stood in a crouch, wrapping the blanket around his shoulders (sue him, he's cold), and slowly made his way out of his tent. He looked around at the toys talking with each other, playing games, and enjoying the little moment of peace they have.
"You're awake!" Nearic looks down to his left and sees the CraftyCorn plush that gave him her tent, "How are you feeling?"
Nearic smiles softly, "I'm doing alright, thank you."
Her body shakes excitedly for a moment before she replies, "No need to thank me, my lord," the teen's breath hitches, "just doing my duty!"
"R-right, well, you've done well. I need to talk with Doey, so if you'll excuse me for a moment," Nearic stands and walks away, looking for the clay monster of the Haven.
"Now, if I were a few hundred pound clay beast, where would I be?" The boy walked around the lobby, waving and smiling to the many toys that greeted him; eventually, his eyes landed on the Prayer Room door, making him smile, "Paying homage to his favourite guest."
Nearic walked to the door and reached for the knob, after a moment of hesitation, he slowly turned it and opened the door, being greeted by an immense sight. It was a large room, filled with drawings, portraits, illustrations, and offerings. The drawings were of several toys, two of which Nearic recognized: Kickin Chicken and Bubba Bubbaphant. The others were of the smaller toys, dogdays, catnaps, craftycorns, kissy missys, huggy wuggys, etc. The portraits were of several human children, most likely depicting what some of the toys used to be before they were turned into what they are now. The illustrations were usually about the toys that have passed away over the years, praying for 'The Survivor' to guide them to peace. The largest one – which took up the entire wall – was on the wall opposite of the teen, with several offerings of food, batteries, and even depleted medical supplies. The large drawing showed a human boy with their eyes closed, brown hair and white skin, wearing a typical survivalist's outfit: hiking boots, cargo pants, a combat vest with knives and guns, and arm guards. The boy also had large white wings dripping with blood, like it had been used to kill several things, and now was soaked in it. The writing below stating 'The Survivor will save us'.
"Wow..." Nearic whispered.
"Pretty impressive, isn't it?" Nearic looked ahead of him and saw Doey kneeling before the illustration of the teen.
Doey slowly stands up from his position and turns around, "How are you feeling?"
Neari nods, "Better, but this room is a little overwhelming," he comments.
The toy nods with a chuckle, "I understand, being seen like this can be a little nerve-wracking."
"It also doesn't help that I just saw you praying to... well... me," the teen adds.
