Nearic stared at Pianosaurus, who eyed him hungrily from his position in the spotlight. Nearic tried to get up, but his arm hurt so much, it sent him back to his stomach with a prolonged yelp. The toy perked up, their focus shifting from the teen's face to their mangled arm, and it twitched with anticipation.
Suddenly, a large shadow came over the boy, two purple legs appearing just within his periphery. A deep thunderous snarl reverberated through the room as Catnap stood over Nearic protectively, his claws scraping eerily into the metal floor.
"Leave him alone," he growled demonically, reminiscent of his voice when he was their enemy, "Or you die."
Pianosaurus didn't seem to care about the threat as they got ready to pounce. Then they charged, bouncing on their feet as they approached, not unlike a snake in their fluid movements. Catnap raised a paw as he hissed warningly, it went unheeded.
But before the feline could swing, the toy was grabbed by several hands originating in the shadows behind them. The act causing the dinosaur toy to trip and fall onto their belly, confusing everyone watching the scenario.
"What the..." Dan breathed softly.
The hands slowly lifted the toy into the air, Pianosaurus not even capable of fighting back, before being into the ground; the toy emitting a broken key noise as a result. The hands didn't stop there, it then started slamming the toy side to side, wall to wall, over and over, making the toy emit that same broken key noise every. single. time.
Eventually it had its fun, eventually slamming it back to the ground, before dragging it into the dark, out of sight. Dogday jumps down in the small moment of silence, but it's quickly broken by the sound of the toy being pounded into pieces, torn to shred. Dan jumps down as well as everyone is distracted by the death of Pianosaurus, the air jets hissing to life to save his fall.
The head of Pianosaurus slides back into view, right in front of Dan's feet, with only three of its keys lit up in red before it dies out slowly. Everyone looks between each other in confusion and fear, Dan mouthing the words, 'What the fuck?!'
"Now that hit the spot!" everyone tenses up and looks ack into the shadows, Catnap lowering himself for his nephew's safety.
Something just barely steps into the light, allowing them to see something in blue with a big smile on their face, "I haven't eaten in weeks!" they chuckle.
Dan takes a step back, Catnap tenses his claws, Nearic swallows nervously, but Dogday just goes slack in shock, "No way..." he mutters.
The creature's gaze turns to them, widening slightly in surprise before jogging over, "Hiya there!"
The creature was mainly sky blue, they eyes only small indents I their hide, they mouth made much the same way. The left arm was mostly orange before thinning out and spiraling around it, eventually only being a small orange hand colouring the front of their chest, their right arm much the same way, only in yellow. Their feet were red and completely covered their legs and waist, before a small red hand curved upward to join the yellow and orange hands on their chest. And to top it all off, they had a small navy blue top hat on top of their head, not matching the size of said head at all.
Dan moves back while Catnap hisses, ears pining back and tail lashing out furiously. Dogday, however, doesn't do anything, just stands there. The toy recognizes the atmosphere and takes a few steps back with a slightly less forward smile, and more of an awkward one.
"My apologies, I didn't mean to frighten you lot. Probably a bad way to introduce myself, killing and eating a toy, huh?" The toy? says sheepishly.
Dan steps forward, still behind Dogday, and asks, "Uh, who are you?"
