Hello everyone,
I apologize for the late updates lately, I have no other excuse than I got lazy, but I'm working on it! To make up for it, this chapter is extra long.
Enjoy.
________________________________________________________________________________Dan hears Yarnaby roar a bit away from his position, making him hide in a small pocket in the wall, "Great, just great!"
As soon as they had entered No Man's Land, the place had went into lockdown, and as a result, Yarnaby was let loose again, right in front of them. So they had to run from the toy for quite some time before entering a new area within the zone. Dan thought they had lost him... evidently, they hadn't.
He hears the pitter patter of the toy's paws thumping against the floor until the rainbow lion is right in front of him. Dan covered his mouth quickly to make sure his breathing wasn't heard; eventually, Yarnaby turned around and walked away.
As the toy's steps were further away, he stepped out of his shelter and turned the corner, seeing Yarnaby turn left and away from him. The young man released a quiet breath of relief, before walking forwards. The path led to an open cavern with large metal crates lining the right, cables sprawled across the ground, some pallets leaned up against a wall to the left, and the end of the path slopped up to some breaker boxes (though, he couldn't see much else up there after that).
Following the now-charged cable he walked up to a small generator humming with activity, but it charged nothing else, he sighed. Making his way back to the room he turned on the cable, he found a large power alternating panel on the wall with four cables leaving it. One of them came from the terminal he activated, another led to another terminal outside the room, another led to some cable box on the opposite wall, and another led to somewhere else outside the room.
After switching the power to the other terminal Dan checked its status, only to find it did nothing. Groaning, he went back and switched the current again, opening up two new pathways, one to his right, and another dead ahead.
Taking the right path, he entered a small room with a gate locked by a hand scanner and a narrow passage to his left. Following it through, he entered a large room filled with scaffolding, pipelines, and terminals.
"Hm," taking a lay of the land, he sees 4 terminals in the room, only one of them with a lever, "Guess I'm powering up the place."
One of the tunnels opens up, making Dan tense and swivel towards it, only to relax when he sees Dogday jump out and force the gate closed, "Oh, it was just you."
Dogday turns around, his back pressed against the gate as he says, "Not for long, Yarnaby is heading this way. Like he knew you were here!"
Dan twitched before looking at the ground in thought, "There may be pressure sensors all over this place to tell the toys where we are."
Dogday nods, "Right, whatever you're going to do in here-" a loud bang gets their attention, making them look towards it as a roar is heard, "... hurry, I'll keep him occupied," he runs back into the vent.
Dan groans, "Why me..." he whispers before sneaking around for the power up terminal.
He hears Yarnaby as soon as he reaches the ground floor, making him hunker down behind some metal scaffolding. The rainbow toy walks over, growling as he looks around, his maw opening vertically as he 'barks'. The young man can only cover his mouth and waits for the lion to trudge past.
A tunnel gate opens, getting Yarnaby's attention, making him growl and chase after it, "Yeah, that's right you overgrown feline, come and get me!" Dogday shouts.
