It had been over a week since Lauren started college and she was finally adjusting to the new atmosphere. There was a roaming period in writing, which was basically just free time, you could easily tell the professor was hung over.
Lauren decided to sit at her seat and aimlessly doodle while blasting music through her headphones. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed dirty converse to the right of her chair. Green eyes gravitated to the source and an unfamiliar face appeared. Lauren quickly pulled out her headphones and dropped her pencil.
"Hi," The girl shyly smiled in Lauren's direction
Lauren quickly returned the smile, noticing the girls nervousness. "Hey."
"I'm Becca," the girl quickly announced, avoiding eye contact.
A light giggle escapes the green eyed girl's lips. "I'm Lauren. It's nice to meet you, Becca."
Once the girl heard Lauren's warm welcome she quickly looked up, Lauren admired the stormy gray color of the girls eyes. "Why are you so nervous?"
The blue eyed girl looks down bashfully, playing with the fabric of her loose jeans. "There aren't a lot of nice people, so I try to be careful."
Lauren's face falls, she watches the girl begin to slightly rock back and forth to try and calm herself down.
"Hey," Lauren gently lays a hand on Becca's knee. "I'm not going to be mean to you, you don't need to be nervous," Lauren's lips turn up in a smile.
Just as Becca was about to respond a shrill voice interrupted the conversation.
"Oh my God look guys!" A blonde girl in a short skirt and a skimpy shirt walks up, Lauren can't help but chuckle at how hard she's trying to expose her nonexistent cleavage. She turns back to the clan of bitches, she must be the leader or something.
"Becca the butch has a new target!" The girl announces to the class, Lauren instantly looks up front to the teachers desk but he seems to have disappeared, probably to puke. Lauren hears the group of girls laugh uncontrollably.
Lauren feels her hand get pushed away and she looks up to see Becca in a blur running from the classroom. Her raging green eyes dart to the bitch walking back to her friends. She quickly stands to her feet and whips the frail girl around, there isn't even the slightest look of surprise on her face.
"What the hell was that," Lauren growls in the girl's face.
The girl looks up at Lauren innocently. "What? I was saving you from being her gay prey," the bitch smiles. Her manicured hand reaches up and caresses Lauren's cheek. "Such a pretty face, doesn't deserve to be a victim to the butch."
The green eyed girl grabs the girls wrist and flings it away from her skin. "You're such a bitch," Lauren breathes, clenching her jaw to remain calm.
"Huh," the blonde giggles and looks back at her friends. "Unless.." The girl completely ignores Lauren's insult.
"Fucking save it." Lauren spits. She watches as the girl begins to trace Lauren's name on the front of the journal on the green eyed girl's desk.
"Lauren," she mumbles. "Lauren the lesbian." The bitch turns her head up in Lauren's direction. Her nails begin to dig into her palm as she repeated the same words over and over in her head. 'Stay calm Lauren, stay calm.'
"It's simple, but apparently it fits," the girl giggles before retreating to her seat. Lauren watches the girls giggle at the scene that just took place, even the brown eyed girl.
As if on cue the professor stumbled back into the room and groggily dismissed the class.
Lauren angrily grabbed her bag and marched out of the classroom. The fact that that bitch just humiliated Lauren in front of all those people was causing Lauren to see red. She couldn't care less if people knew she was gay, their opinions didn't matter, but that was just cruel to Becca.
