The Moment We Met

(TWO YEARS EARLIER)

Jade's POV

  "Kuya Paul, thank you so much sa paghatid, I have to go na."

"Okay, ingat ka sa byahe ha. Sorry, di ako makakasabay sayo pag-uwi kasi hanggang next week pa ko dito sa Cebu. I'll see you in Manila nalang." Malungkot na sabi ni Kuya Paul.

"It's okay Kuya, don't worry I'm a big girl now. At isa pa di ko naman first time sumakay ng ferry, mas gustuhin ko naman to kesa lumipad na mag-isa lang."

"Hahaha I know, I know. Oh sige na sumakay ka na. Mag-ingat ka ha." And then we hugged and he kissed me above my head.

"Okay kuya bye. Ingat ka din."

The sun was down.
I stood on the top deck of the ferry, watching the afterglow of sunset lingering on the horizon. The sharp breeze ruffled my hair. And while trying to fix my hair, I accidentally pulled the chain of my necklace, kaya naman naputol ito, at nalaglag.

"Oh shit!"

May sentimental value sakin ang necklace na yon, dahil bigay sakin yon ng pinakamamahal kong Lola kaya hindi iyon pwedeng mawala.

I bent over the railing to search for it, nagba-baka sakali na sumabit lang ito kung saan. While I'm searching for my necklace.....

"Hey miss! Anong ginagawa mo dyan?!" I heard a woman's voice.

"Miss! Anong bang ginagawa mo dyan baka mahulog ka?!" Said the woman's voice. And as I turned to face the stranger. I suddenly felt a strong, yet firm pair of arms wrap around my waist and pulled me away from the railing. The force of the pull threw me off balance, we both fell and I landed on top of that stranger.

My body was pressed against a lean, yet soft body. Her strong arms still tightly wrapped around my waist. I could feel the heat radiating from her body, against the cool night breeze. I could smell the faint, sweet scent of her perfume. Our faces were mere inches apart and I could feel her warm breath on my face.

Tinignan ko ang kabuuan ng kanyang mukha. God! She's so beautiful! Our eyes locked for who knows how long, then she broke into a sweet smile. My heart began pounding in my chest. Hindi ko alam kung bakit, at hindi ko din alam kung gano kami katagal sa ganitong posisyon.

"Ehem." She pulled me out of my reverie with a playful smirk on her face.

"I-I'm sorry." I felt a flush creep up my cheeks, kaya nagmamadali akong tumayo.

I still felt flushed, but I tried to calm myself and offered my hand para tulungan siyang tumayo.
I felt a sudden jolt of electricity the moment her hand touched mine. "Thank you." She said with a smile.

"It's okay.. Hey! Wait! Did i just say sorry?!" I asked, dahil naalala ko na siya dapat ang magsorry dahil hinila niya ko kaya kami nauwi sa ganoong posisyon.

"Uhh.. Yeah??" She said, and raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"Parang sa pagkakaalala ko kasi ikaw ata ang dapat magsorry?" I replied.

"Ooohh... Wait! Did i just say thank you?" Balik naman niya.

"Y-yes??" Ako naman ang naguluhan.

"Kasi sa pagkakaalam ko, ikaw dapat ang mag-thank you." She replied na may halong pang aasar.

"Teka.. Bakit naman ako magte-thank you? Eh ikaw nga tong bigla nalang sumusulpot at hinila mo pa ko kaya tuloy tayo natumba, so dapat pala ipagpasalamat ko yon?" I said sarcastically.
