As they call it, 'Paramore' started playing this song.

I heard Hayley start singing these weird lyrics.

"I've gone for too long living like I'm not alive, so I'm gonna start over tonight.. Beginning with you and I, when this memory fades I'm gonna make sure it's replaced with, Chances taken, hope embraced and have I told you?"

What does that even mean?

"Tyler, let's dance!" Jenna grabs my hand.

"What is this song?"

"I think it's.. Miracle, now, let's go dance our asses off!"

"Is that possible?"

Jenna basically sprinted to the dance floor and kind of bobbed her head back and forth except, it was more energetic than it was supposed to be and she kept waving her hands around.. She's really strange at dancing.

Josh pushed me by the shoulder and I stumbled onto the dance floor.

"Dance." Jenna mouthed.

I started clapping for some reason and found out, clapping wasn't good, especially with the rock song Paramore was playing, like Jenna said, the song was entitled, "Miracle."

They played a couple other songs but I don't the titles of them, they were really good and catchy, I hope they get famous soon (You're not wrong, they're one of the best and famous bands today.)

After they were done playing, I asked Mr. Nolan something.

"Hey, Tyler. You having a good time?"

"No, but the singer, up on the stage, is that Hayley? It looks like her."

"Yeah, didn't Zach date Hayley?"

"Yeah and-Oh, yeah, I remember, you had a little crush on her." Mr. Nolan interrupts me.

"Yeah, am I able to.. See her?"

"Like, backstage?"

"Sort of."

"I'd advise you not to fanboy."

"Okay, I won't."

"And don't bring any friends back there. You'll be the only one back there besides them."

"Okay, I got it."

"You may go."

"Great, thank you!"

"And Tyler.. TRY having a good time."

I nod.

I turn back around.

"Could you take me back there? I don't think the teachers by the backstage will let me in unless you take me in there."

"Sure." He sighs.

Mr. Nolan takes me backstage.

"Do you have to introduce me to them?"

"Not if you don't want me to."

Mr. Nolan didn't introduce me to them because I don't like it when I'm the center of attention.

I don't know if Hayley noticed me because she stared at me and I didn't like that so I asked her.

"Why are you staring at me?"

(Because you're beautiful, TFIOS)

"Because I dated your brother, Tyler."

So, she DOES remember me!

"You remember me?"

"Yeah, of freaking course! How could I forget you, you're an awkward little bean." She hugs me.

"Bean?"

"It's a... Figure of speech.. Sort of."

"Oh."

"Why didn't you call me or get back in touch with me? As awkward as you were, you were sweet."

"I don't know, I didn't want to give you all my troubles or demons."

"You didn't freak me out or anything."

"I feel like I did.. Plus, I was too nervous to call."

She thinks for a second, "I know where you stand."

"In the backstage?"

"No, you've probably been silent and awkward and shy and timid forever and I feel like you need to get out of your hole."

"I have friends, you know? You don't know my brain the way you know my name and you sure as hell don't know my heart the way you know my face."

"I apologize but I wasn't saying you didn't have friends, you got Josh and.. Quick question, who are those two girls by him?" She drinks her water.

"That's Jenna, the blonde one, she's a new friend and my date for tonight. The other one with the red hair is Josh's date, Debby."

"Well, bringing a date takes a lot of responsibility."

"Well, I'm the kind of guy who takes every moment he knows he confided in so don't fixate on me."

Man, she seems meaner.

"I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about Josh, you know, that time he touched my boobs? Yeah, he better be gentle with Debby."

"He will, he changed."

"Good for him."

"Should I have brought Jenna here? It feels awkward bringing a date."

"Lemme tell you this.. Take pride in what is sure to die. I'm not saying your guys' relationship is going to die , I'm saying that awkward feeling is going to die but take pride in that awkwardness because, and take my word for this, people are much more nicer when they're awkward and I don't know if you'll be the only exception in that case. I sure hope so, though."

I'm actually not mad, that was nice of her to say.

"Thank you." I hug her.

"I have to go but thank you, again."

She smiles.

"I'll call you sometime." I say.

"Sure, it'd be nice to talk you again."

I smile as well and head back out to the dance floor

She's so much more inspirational than I thought, that's a really cool life lesson she just taught me. Man, I miss her.
