Chapter 42

(Of course the handsome Chris Pratt is sweet Nate!)

Thankfully I get to school just in time, I run through the hallway down to Mrs. Jackson's room. I open the door and sit at my seat, the bell rings a second later and I finally breath.

"Ok class let me take attendance and then we are having our chapter 9 test" she says walking over to her desk and looking up and down from paper to student checking off the people who aren't here.

Someone taps my shoulder and I look behind me, Jades eyes look worried "what happened to your hand?" She asks grabbing my arm and inspecting the gauze on my hand that hides the cut

"This morning I was cleaning up all the glass that was broken last night and Marcus scared me so I accidentally cut my palm, but it's fine he said it should be healed in a couple of days" I tell her taking back my hand

She rolls her eyes "Marcus was a such an ass last night" she balls her fists and I see a small spark ignite

"Quiet down tests are being passed out, bring them up to me when you are done, make sure to put your name and period on your paper, once all the tests are passed out you may begin working" she says and the girl in front of me passes back the test, I take one and pass the last one back to Jade.

After forty minutes I finally finish, I walk my test up to Mrs.Jackson and she takes it with a smile.

I sit at my desk quietly until the bell rings and all the tests are collected. I start to walk out and Jade follows "oh my god that was so hard" she breaths out dramatically

"Yeah kinda...and um..is Caden alright?" I ask

"Yeah he's fine, he was healed within a few hours" She asks

I sigh "I'm really sorry Marcus did that, he got so angry because of Caine and what he's been saying, don't worry I made sure he would never do anything like that again" I reassure her as we walk down the hallway

"I get it, but seriously if your boyfriend ever pulls something like that again I'll turn him in to a toad, just a fair warning" she says and I start to laugh

"Deal" I giggle as I stop at the door of my next class "is um...Caden really going to training today?" I ask nervously

"Yeah I guess so, he said he forgave Marcus right when we left. Caden told me he would have probably done the same thing if it was me" she smile

I breath out a sigh of relief "thank god, but I'm really sorry again. Are you going to be there this afternoon?" I ask

she laughs "no, I'd rather not be surrounded by vampires on my Friday night" she says

I frown, I guess I'll be alone, except Marcus but he'll be busy the whole time "ok well I'll see you in third" I tell her grabbing the handle to the classroom door. I look up at the clock and wince "you better get to cla-" I begin but I'm cut off by the bell, whoops

She flips her raven black hair over her shoulder and curses under her breath "Ugh! You made me late" she says and runs off without my reply, I laugh although I feel a little bad

I walk into my class and thankfully my teacher isn't in here yet, I slowly walk over to my desk and wait for the next dull lesson.

The rest of my day was boring all I could think about was this afternoon. Third period we had some old man who would shh's us every five seconds even if no one was talking, it just made me miss Marcus more. Forth period Amber and Luke questioned what happened to my hand and I had to tell them what happened with Caine and how Marcus and Caden got into it.
