I made a poem to go with one of my drawings.
I'm just a puppet tugging on my strings, trying to escape.
One by one the strings are cut, and I will be released.
When I am free, what will I be? My future I can't see.
What is my fate? Is it best to wait? It's so unclear to me.
You see my smile, my tears are disguised, and I try to give out joy.
But sometimes it seems I do more harm than good...
...am I just another toy? There is a meaning to these words. In fact, there can be multiple meanings. It can be literally descriptive. Or it can be interpreted as figurative language. Or both even.
I've never been very good at writing poems, but a few people have told me that this is a good one. I like poetry. I like to interpret the hidden meaning in poems. They're so simple, but they have a much bigger picture in them.
Poems don't have to rhyme, or even make much sense. It's all about how you see it. It's a lot like an actual story, or a song. It's depends on the person, and how the person views it. Either way, it's just another way to express.
In my years of school, I've learned that there are a lot of different styles of poetry. And each style is complete with a set of rules. These rules can be simple, or very complicated and strict. I don't like to follow the rules. When I write a poem I follow my own rules. I want it to make sense, have a meaning instead of being random, and have that tone that many poems have.
I don't read many poems, or write many either, but I still like them. I think i will start writing some though. It can serve as another way for me to get things off my mind. I've got a little jounal around here somewhere...
Maybe I'll even type them up in a collection.
