Twenty-seven

I hold onto my butt and shake my head. What a friend I have.

Jessica POV

I woke up and search for my phone straight away, hoping there's a text from Yul. I unlock my phone but it seem like there's nothing from her. I threw my phone aside and sat up from the bed. When I turn my body to the other side, I saw Soo sleeping on a chair in my room.

I look at the clock watch, its 8 almost 9 in the morning. I went closer to her and kneel down in front of her. I wonder if she's getting tired of me. After Yul left, Soo comes to my room every day, every hour to check if I'm okay. She is really great friend, I feel so secured around her.

"Soo." I need to wake her up because she have work, she flinch and open her eyes. She look at me and asked, "Why? What happened?" She held my hand that was on her thighs. I let out a small laugh.

"I'm fine Soo, aren't you supposed to be going to work?" I frown wondering why she is still here.

"What time is it?" She ask as she rub her eyes.

"8 almost 9." I said and went back to sit on my bed.

"Wow, forget it. I'm two hours late." She said then closing her eyes, ready to get back to sleep. I laugh at her.

"Don't sleep there, you back will hurt. Come here." I pat at the space beside me on the bed. She grin and jog over, she jumps on my bed and lie down immediately.

"What time did you sleep yesterday?" I ask as I headd she yawn loudly.

"After you fall asleep, which is 3." She was about to close her eyes but I'm not letting it happen easily. I poke my finger on her stomach making her flinch.

"Yah, you really not going to work?" I said as I sat closer to her body, kneeling on my knees.

"A day off doesn't kill." She wink at me then took a pillow to cover her face, so I won't disturb her anymore. I was about to get off the bed but out of a sudden, Soo grab my hand.

"Stay." She said with her eyes close but still having my hand. When she grab me, I felt like a weird feeling going on in my heart. What is this?!

"Why are you so quiet suddenly?" She push the pillow that was on her face and look at me with a serious face. I look down at our hand and then look back at her, she instantly let go. She sat up from the bed and cross her legs.

"Mianhe." She scratch the back of her neck, then she get off my bed and smile at me. She leaves the room without saying anything. Why is she acting so strangely lately?

Soo POV

I can't do that to her. I can't sleep with her. I can't make her stay for me. She is not yours Soo.

She belongs to Yul. I have no right, to be with her 24/7 making excuse that I'm taking care of her when I actually want to spend time with her. I can't have her, she is my friend's girlfriend, real friends doesn't backstab.

I don't know why, but I'm sitting at the edge of my room hugging my knee. I hate knowing that I can't have her.

The door open revealing Sica. "Soo, are you okay?" She said as she sat in front of me, holding my knees. I nod and smile at her.

"I'll contact Yul." I said breaking the silence.

"What are you talking about?"

"I'll make sure Yul comes back and make you happy... Just like how you were..." I said looking down at my hands.

"What are you talking?" Jessica said with her eyes squinted and let out a chuckle.

"You are Yul's."

"Omg Soo! Can't you just tell me straight to the point?!"

"I can't Sica! Because the truth is I like you!" I said without thinking. I'm too tired of hiding this feelings, its been years. I feel like a big load have dropped off my shoulders.

"What?" She frown.

"I like you Sica." I said and I totally regret saying it. I look up at Sica, she was staring at me as if she was about to kill me.

"Since when?" She said taking her hands off my knees.

"Very long time Sica. Even before you became Yul's. I have to keep it as a secret all this years because I don't want our friendship to be ruin by my feelings. That's why when Yul left, I kept my eyes on you the whole time. My intention was just to take care of you but it seems like that wasn't my only intention. That's why I walk out of the room."

"Why didn't you tell me?" She asked.

"Like I've said, I don't want ruin your relationship and our friendship." I weakly smile at her, showing her that I strong enough to handle this shits.

"I'm so sorry Soo. I can't be what you want us to be and I'm really sorry that we can't." Sica look down on her legs.

"I know we can't, that's the reason why I've been keeping this for years. Because I know it won't happen anytime sooner or later. Because you are Yul's, not mine, not anyone. And I promise that I will bring her back and make you happier." I grab her hand and smile at her. But she became sad after I said that, out of no where, a tear drop down her cheek.

"Yah, why are you crying?" I said as I wipe her cheek.

"I'm really really sorry. I feel so bad that you waited for years but you can't have me."

"No, don't say that. It isn't my chance. And trust me, I have nothing against you with Yul. In fact, I'm happier when I see you happy with Yul." I smile at her making her stop crying. She wipe her tears and look up at me.

"Promise me, we will be friends forever." She stick out her pinky finger. I look down at smile, I wrap my pinky finger around her.

I quickly lean in and kiss her cheek and then grin at her. She held her cheek with her mouth open, "That's what friends normally do, right?" I raise my eyebrows at her. She nod with a big smile then stands up and left the room. I stand up with my free shoulders, never thought confessing could release some stress.
