Chapter 8
“Ok, so…,” the teacher said and went on and on giving us a lecture about the Civil War. I zoned out a little.
Eddie, Alex, and Rob were in this class with me. But the teacher assigned us stupid seats, so I’m stuck between Alex and some guy that looks like Taylor Launter. Behind me is someone I don’t know and in front of me is Eddie.
Rob sat on the other side of the classroom.
“Hey,” Taylor Launter whispered, “Can I have your number?”
I looked at him like he was stupid. Was he kidding?
“Ummm… how about no?” I scowled at him.
“Ooh, feisty, I like that,” he winked at me.
I swear I was about to puke. This guy was sick.
“Oliva, Jacob, stop talking or you get detention,” the teacher said. I almost started laughing because his name was Jacob and he looked like Taylor Launter.
“I wasn’t even talking!” I protested.
“So you want detention?” he asked. I sighed and slumped down in my chair. I heard Alex laughing beside me. I glanced over at him. I missed him even more. I was glad I made new friends, but I missed hanging out with him, all because of that stupid Sarah.
The bell interrupted my thoughts.
“Okay, I’m not going to give you any homework today, but remember your test in next Friday,” he reminded us as we gathered our stuff.
“You may go to lunch now,” he dismissed us. I grabbed my books and stood up.
“Hey wanna hang out after school?” Jacob asked me.
“No. Way,” I answered.
“Your loss,” he said and walked away.
“Stay clear of him. Jacob’s bad news,” Alex warned me. Wait… Alex said that.
I looked at him. I saw shocked at first I didn’t say anything.
“Thanks,” I mumbled.
“Don’t think we’re friends again. You slapped my girlfriend and made her cry,” he exclaimed.
“She deserved it,” I explained.
“Don’t push it, I almost forgave you,” he smiled and walked out of the classroom. Once he was out of sight, I started smiling a lot.
“Is that the dude?” Eddie asked in his amazing British accent.
I sighed dreamily.
“Yeah,” I said.
“He looks like a nice guy. I’d stick with him,” Eddie smiled, but behind that did I see… jealousy?
No, Eddie doesn’t like me.
No, no, no.
“Well, come on let’s go to lunch,” Eddie said and we walked out of the classroom. My locker was right beside it. I put my books in and took out my money.
I followed Eddie into the lunchroom.
There was… a lot of people.
“Just stay with me. The lunchroom is the most dangerous place you’ll ever go in your entire lifetime,” he warned me, which made me laugh. He pulled me through the crowd and into the lunch line with Georgia and Leslie.
“Hey Olivia!” they said at the same time.
“Hey guys,” I waved. I got my tray and got mac and cheese, fruit, and milk.
“Olivia over here!” Austin yelled. I walked over to their table and was about sit down next to Austin when Sarah came in front of me. She took the chair and sat down.
I glanced at Austin.
“Sorry,” I said and walked away to go sit with Eddie, Georgia, and Leslie.
“What are you doing?” Georgia screamed, “You had a chance to sit with the populars!”
“Sarah’s there,” I said in disgust.
“What are you talking about, Sarah is the prettiest girl in school,” Eddie said.
“But you never want to get on her bad side!” Leslie warned.
“Too late for that,” I mumbled.
“What do you mean?” they asked.
“Well, Tyler, Alex, Austin, Rob, Zach, Sarah, and I went to go see a movie on Friday and I kind of punched her,” I said.
“High-five girl! We all hate her!” Georgia said and gave me a high-five.
I smiled big.
I actually fit in with a group of people that didn’t involve Sarah in it.
(A/N I know this is short, and boring... sorry I'm just kind of writing these fast)
