Chapter 38 Part 2
Extra-long one :)

I walked into the theatre where Jacob was already sitting waiting for me to come. I really didn’t want to do this.
I walked on the stage and stared down at him. He just sat there for a minute.
“Well?” I said and he gave me a questioning look.
“Are you going to do something?” I asked and he chuckled.
“I don’t do work, Johnson,” he explained. I rolled my eyes.
“Then how are we going to get this done?” I asked.
“You’re such a good girl, and the good girl always falls for the bad boy,” he said and winked at me.
“You’re pathetic, you know that?”
“I’m also hot.”
I grunted and smacked his shoulder.
“You’re so cute when you’re angry,” he stated.
“Look, could you not be a jerk for one hour and help me with this? I really just want to get this over with,” I exclaimed and gestured toward the sets that needed to be painted.
“Fine, but only because you’re doing it with me,” he winked again.
“Do you have something in your eye?” I asked sarcastically. It was now his turn to roll his eyes.
We picked up the paint brushes and cans and brought them over to the play set and then put on our smocks. I put my hair up in a ponytail and then started painting.
Luckily, Jacob didn’t say anything for a while.
“So how are things going with your man candy?” Jacob asked.
“He has a name. It’s Alex.”
“I don’t like him.”
“You don’t like a lot of people, Connors.”
“I just don’t see it. Olivia Constancio? No. Olivia Connors? Yes,” he proclaimed. I laughed a little. I never realized how good Olivia Constancio sounded. Wow, I am weird…
“You’re an arrogant, stupid, jerk,” I scoffed and he pretended to be hurt.
“Wow, I thought we had something special,” he said.
“Can you just shut up so I can live for the next 30 minutes?” I asked and luckily he did shut up.
