Chapter 31

I looked in the mirror one last time. I had 15 minutes until Alex picked me up. I can’t wait for it.

I was wearing a pair of blue waist high shorts and a Joie Dolina top. My hair was down in curls and I was wearing light pink lip stick.

I sighed and looked in the mirror again.

Alex said to dress nice. Was this too casual? I mean the shirt is pretty nice. But he might be expecting a dress… but I don’t own one at the moment. And the school dance is in a month…

I’ll go shopping some time in between.

I sighed and picked up my purse with my phone and wallet in it.

My phone beeped.

I looked at the text.

To: Olivia

From: Alex

I’ll be a little late… sorry :(

I frowned.

To: Alex

From: Olivia

Aw why?

My phone beeped in less than ten seconds.

To: Olivia

From: Alex

I think I just broke my ankle…it hurts so much!!!!!

I hope he’s okay.

To: Alex

From: Olivia

Do you want to do it tomorrow on Sunday? I hope you feel better

To: Olivia

From: Alex

Nah, I’ll be fine. I’ll be there as soon as possible ok?

To: Alex

From: Olivia

K… be careful

Poor Alex.

“Hey Olivia it’s 7, where’s Alex?” Austin asked walking into my room.

“He just texted me saying he might’ve broken his ankle. He said he will be a little late,” I explained and Austin nodded.

He walked over and sat next to me on my bed.

“So are you okay?” he asked quietly. I raised an eyebrow at him.

“Yeah… why wouldn’t I be?” I laughed. I looked at his face but he was serious.

“I just making sure you were okay,” he said and got up but I pulled him back.

“No secrets. Your words not mine,” I said and he sat down again.

“It’s just this whole Landon thing. He and I were pretty close… he’s dead? And if that makes me this sad… I can’t even imagine how hard it must be for you,” he said and put his hands on his lap. I smiled.

“Austin, I’m fine. I was devastated when they died, no doubt, but I’ve gotten over it. I have a new and better life now here in Texas,” I said and he smiled.

“Good, and we never got to see the movie with just the two of us. We should do something together another time. You’re like my best friend now, Olivia,” he said sweetly. I smiled.

“You’re so nice! Oh my gosh!” I yelled and gave him a hug. Is it possible for someone to be this amazing?

“Aw thanks Liv!” he yelled and hugged back. I pulled away.
