“There you are. Are you okay? What happened?” Mrs. Mahone asked.
“Everything’s fine. Something just came up,” I said and glared at Logan.
“Oh well I better get back now, uh see ya!” he yelled and then ran out of the house.
“Have you seen Austin? It’s getting really late,” Mrs. Mahone said.
“He’s probably fine. You know teenagers and their parties,” I said and then sat down on the couch.
“Well I’m really tired and I’ve got to get to bed do you think you could wait down here to make sure Austin gets home?” she aske.d I nodded.
“Don’t worry he’ll be here soon,” I said and turned on the TV. Th Walking Dead was on. I smiled and clicked on it and watched it for about 30 minutes.
Where was Austin? It was nearly midnight. Maybe I should call him.
I dialed his number and put the phone to my ear.
“Hello?” he asked.
“Hi your mom is really worried. You should get home,” I said.
“I’m on my way home. We just got a little… lost,” he explained. I rolled my eyes.
“Seriously? Where are you?” I asked.
“Um I don’t know. We’ll be home soon I promise don’t worry about us,” he reassured me.
“Whatever, just be here soon,” I exclaimed and then hung up.
I decided to go to bed too. It was pretty late especially for a school night.
I walked upstairs. I found out that I was super tired. I didn’t bother changing into my pajamas. As soon as I hit the bed I was out.
***
“My mom is going to kill me! Can’t I just spend the night here?” Alex asked.
I opened my eyes and looked around. No one was in my room.
“Ok, let’s just go up to my room and sleep and then just tell your mom’s you forgot to tell them but you were spending the night here okay?” Austin said. I groaned and got up.
I looked in the hallway and saw Alex, Tyler, Rob, Austin, and Zach standing there.
“What are you guys doing?” I asked. They all turned towards me.
“Oh did we wake you up? Sorry,” Tyler said.
“What time is it?” I asked ignoring his question.
“Like 3 am why?” Rob asked.
“It took you 3 hours to find your way home?” I asked.
“We got really lost okay?” Zach said and they all glared at Rob.
“Tyler was the on telling me where to go!” Rob protested.
“Just shut up so I can sleep,” I croaked.
‘
“Someone’s in a grumpy mood,” Austin mumbled.
“I’m sorry. I’m not usually happy when I get woken up at 3am,” I said.
“We’re sorry, ok just tell mom we got here as soon as she went to bed,” Austin explained.
“And why would I do that?” I asked and crossed my arms over my chest.
“Because you are the best girlfriend ever,” Alex stated. I smiled.
“I know,” I said and smiled cheekily at them.
“So will you tell mom we got here earlier?” Austin asked. I sighed.
“Ok just shut up and go to sleep before I change my mind,” I said and then fell asleep again.
***
“Olivia! Wake up!” someone said and shook me. I rubbed my eyes and saw Alex standing there, still in his pajamas.
“What?”
“We got to get up for school,” he said.
“Oh yeah,” I groaned and sat up.
“Nice hair by the way,” he said and winked at me.
I felt my hair, oh man my hair usually gets messy when I sleep.
“I’m just messing with you, it looks fine,” Alex said and walked out of the room. I sighed with relief and pulled the covers off of me. I shut the door and got dressed into blue jeans (first time not in skinny jeans ;)) and a white t-shirt and then a varsity jacket. I quickly brushed my hair and teeth and went downstairs to meet the boys.
They were all siting in the kitchen texting their friends.
“So Olivia what time did the boys get home last night?” Mrs. Mahone asked.
“Um right after you went to sleep,” I lied and they all mouthed ‘thank you’ to me. I mouth back ‘you owe me.’
I sat down in between Rob and Tyler and saw what was on my plate. Waffles. Two pieces of waffles.
“Sorry for the small breakfast guys, I’m just really tired,” she apologized.
“It’s fine, they’re good waffles,” Tyler said and smiled.
I finished mine quickly.
“Well we should be getting to school. Bye mom,” Austin said and waved at his mom. She waved back and then we all grabbed our backpacks and walked out of the door.
The bus was already there when we got to the bus stop. We all hopped on and I sat down next to Eddie again. I felt kind of bad that I didn’t sit with Alex, but he sat with Austin now so at least he wasn’t alone.
“Hey, did you go to the party?” Eddie asked. I shook my head.
“No.”
“Then why do you look so tired?” Georgia asked. I eyed her remembering yesterday at lunch. She looked a little uncomfortable.
“It’s a long story,” I explained. They all nodded.
“Did you guys go?” I asked. They all shook their heads.
“We weren’t really invited,” Leslie mumbled.
“What? I thought everyone was invited,” I said.
“Well I guess everyone except us,” Eddie muttered.
“I’m sorry guys, but Alex convinced me to throw a party for my birthday. Everyone except Sarah will be invited.”
I haven’t really paid much attention to Sarah anymore. I’m so glad she was out of my life now but apparently she wasn’t out of Georgia’s.
I would have to ask her about it again later.
