Chapter 19

A/N

I know the last few chapters have been reallly short and I'm sorry but they get longer :)

“Ok, here are the rules,” Tyler shouted, “No hitting, no swearing, no kicking, you can push, just don’t hurt anyone. You can’t look while the other time is hiding their flag and if you have been tagged you have to go to the jail, which is for the blue team, Sarah’s and Olivia’s tent and for the red team Austin’s and Zach’s tent!”

When we went back to our campsite everyone seemed bored so Tyler suggested that they play capture the flag and we really had nothing better to do so we all agreed.

The teams were the blue team which consisted of Alex, Rob, Austin, and me and then there was the red team which consisted of Sarah, Tyler, and Zach.

They only have three players because apparently Tyler is a professional at this.

I laughed and then we set off on our teams. My team was the one closest to the lake which I was excited about.

The boundaries went from the whole woods to the lake and the campsite, but you couldn’t go in the lake or beyond the woods or you’re disqualified.

Our flag was hidden up in a high tree, so even if someone saw it, we would catch them and shoot them with their nerf gun first. Oh yeah did I mention we had nerf guns?

Tyler brought them just in case the zombie apocalypse happened. Oh Tyler…

So you could either tag someone or shoot them, and then they go to jail.

I was on offense with Alex, which meant we had to try and find their flag without getting tagged or shot, and Rob and Austin were back on defense which meant they had to defend our flag.

On their team Sarah and Zach were on offense and Tyler was back on defense. When Tyler blew his whistle, the game would start.

I knew Sarah and Zach, so I had a pretty good guess where the flag was…

I think it is somewhere on the ground with leaves piled over it, I just didn’t know where though.

Tyler blew his whistle and Sarah and Zach made a break for it going in different directions.

I tagged Sarah easily but Zach kept going, being chased my Rob and Austin, which left us with Tyler.

“On the count of three let’s both go,” I whispered to Alex and he nodded.

“1… 2… 3,” he said and we both took off on their side. Tyler hesitated at who he should go after and then chose Alex but he was too late, Alex and I had already disappeared into the woods.

I looked around wondering where it might be. I kicked at all the leaves but didn’t see any flag. By now, Tyler had probably gone to get Sarah, and she would be here in a few seconds.

I didn’t have much time. I kicked at leaves as I ran but couldn’t see anything.

Maybe it wasn’t down in the ground… but it was too late to go looking for anything else because Sarah was behind me in seconds. I noticed her and tried running away but she grabbed my arm.

“I won’t shoot you if you do something for me,” she whispered to me.

“What do you want? And you have to tell me where your flag is too,” I smirked.

“Fine, just listen, ok I heard about you telling Alex about Zach and I, but please don’t. I’m not cheating on him, and he is the best thing that has ever happened to me,” she cried.

“You don’t deserve him after what you did!” I yelled.

“I know, just please don’t tell him or anyone. I’m trying to change,” she protested.

“I want to believe that Sarah but even if you have changed… I can’t just forget what you did to me,” I said.

“I didn’t know they would die,” she screamed.

“Sarah it’s not just that, but after that when you kept tormenting me, convincing Zach that I was ignoring you for no reason, and remember that stupid petition you made everyone sign about Leslie,” I yelled harshly.

“Ok, I will make it up to you just please don’t tell Alex, please,” she pleaded. She looked so desperate and miserable.

I took a deep breath, I didn’t know what to do.

“Sarah, I won’t tell him on one condition, you stop blackmailing me,” I said. Her face fell but she eventually took a deep breath.

“Fine, is it a deal?” she asked.

“Deal,” I said.
