Merry Christmas!

Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through Rivendell,
Not a creature was stirring
(Except for Sven the elk).

The stockings were hung in various places,
Each one of them filled with Misha faces.

The elflings were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of candy canes danced in their heads.

And Elrond in his glittery blue nightcap,
Had just settled down for a much-needed nap.

When out in the gardens he heard such a clatter,
And wearily rose to see what was the matter.

Out on the balcony he stepped out,
To see what all of the noise was about.

And the sight that greeted that wise elf
Was a sleigh with a team of moose and elk!

And a young elven driver in a blue dress,
He knew in a moment that it had to be Dess.

As swift as the eagles the animals flew,
And she called each by name as they raced through.

"On Sammy! On Svennie! On Kristoff and Anna!
On Thunder! On Stormy! On Bob and Alaska!"

"To the top of the mountain, to the top of the falls!
Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!"

So up above the balconies they flew,
With a sleigh full of fandoms and Dess, with some food.

And then Elrond heard a sound on the roof-
The prancing and pawing of each moose/elk hoof.

And as he was starting to turn back around,
With a single swift movement, Dess jumped down.

She wore a dress of light blue and green,
And the shiniest silver to ever be seen.

She had a pack of various fandom collections,
Each of them made to absolute perfection.

Her eyes held laughter and happiness too,
As bright as the moonlight that she had slipped through.

Her mouth was curled up in a slight little smirk,
And she showed no sign of her long night's work.

The Dess wasn't an ordinary elf,
Elrond laughed when he was her in spite of himself.

She gave him a smile and a nod of her head,
Then laid candy canes by the elflings' bed.

She spoke not a word but went straight to her task,
Giving each elf just what they had asked.

And smiling up at the moon once again,
She jumped through the trees, landing right in her sled.

She called to her team and they sprang into place,
And the shadow of the leaves now covered her face.
But Elrond head her exclaim as she flew out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"
