Chapter 10. Taken For A Fool

"Does everyone understand the assignment, due Monday. No extensions, no excuses. OK? Alright, you're free to go. Have a safe weekend!" My bio teacher Mrs.L says

"Have a good weekend Mrs.L!" I call as I sling my backpack over my shoulder

"Oh! Danielle, I have those extra credit assignments you asked for." She says handing me a binder "I wish all my students were like you. You're my favourite. But shh, dont tell anyone that. If you do, ill deny it." she laughs

"Thank you! It's ok, I'm my dads favourite too, we just don't tell Ryder that." I say smirking "See you on Monday!"

The sun is bright, but the air is rather chilly, its amazing how quick it can change. Just last week I was wearing a bikini. Now I'm wearing full jeans, knee high boots, a long sleeve and a scarf.

I walk out to my car to find a note under my windshield wiper. Please dont be a ticket. As I open it I see sloppy boy writing.

Tonight at 6. Don't forget.

I pull out my phone as I sit down in my car. Texting Jackson I can't help but laugh.

Thanks for the note, however. You do have my number, why didn't you just text me?

The reply comes almost instantly

I was trying to be romantic. See you tonight babycakes.

I smile staring at my phone but then I'm quick to remember. Its all just a game Danielle, all for a stupid bet.

 I sigh slamming my key into the ignition, I crank up my music and rip out of the parking lot.

"What the hell do I wear!" I yell into my phone at Michelle

"Wear that black long sleeve with the buttons on the front! Makes your boobies look nice!" she says back laughing as she paints her nails

I hear a voice in the background "Is that Danielle?"

"No." Michelle says shortly "Get out of my room."

I have to keep myself from laughing because for a girls who is only 4 foot 11, she is quite intimidating when she wants to be.

I settle on plain light wash jeans with my black long sleeve and a dark grey scarf. As you can tell I'm going all out for this date... obviously.

"I feel like I haven't seen you in forever. Just move here with me please." I say to Michelle

"God, when did you get so needy?" She says laughing

"Fine. I hate you bitch."

"NOOOOO MY LIFE IS OVER!"

"That's what I thought. Shit." I say checking my watch which now read 5:52. "I gotta go, Ill text you later when I'm home. OK?"

"Yeah yeah, go make momma proud. Loove you!"

"Love you too!" I say shutting my laptop

Finishing off my outfit with a leather jacket and pulling on my boots I head down stairs.

"Where are you going?" Ryder asks drinking his OJ

"Going on a date." I say smirking

"With who?"

"Jackson."

Ding Dong

"Well I better go. See you tonight." I say walking to the door

"Be smart Danielle. I dont want you to be another tick on his chart." he says looking serious

"Don't worry, I won't be. Thanks for looking out for me." I say smiling at him
