the end

It was 2:34 pm and Aria stood outside of apartment 3B fuming. After spending all day packing up your things to be sent away from everybody you've ever cared about doesn't put you in the greatest mood and all of this was down to the man behind that door. Knocking repeatedly on the door the rage within Aria began to grow.

"Ezra, I know you're in there just open the damn door." Slamming her palm against the barrier between her and the man she believed was the only one who could save her from all of this. Her voice got louder as she began to not care about who heard her.

A few minutes later Ezra came to the door, half asleep. His eyelids were heavy as he stood in only a pair of jogging bottoms. "Aria what's the matter?" The dark haired man asked even though he knew deep down what this was going to be about.

"You." The small girl began as she pushed passed Ezra, as soon as she saw the man she had been working herself up to scream at her mood suddenly flipped from anger to what felt like betrayal. "You claim you care about me then you want to send me half way across the world? And don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about."

There was a few seconds when Ezra was shutting the door for him to piece his story together, he hated lying but it hurt him so much more to lie to Aria. He'd almost lost her through lies and now it was happening all over again but this time it was going to hurt much more.

"Don't give me the silent treatment Fitz, you have explaining to do and I really hope it's good because I'm not in a real forgiving mood right now."

"I spoke to your parents when you had no clue who I was, I believed that you needed space. I needed space. I couldn't see you like that Aria, everything we worked for was taken away in a matter of seconds, you looked at me like I was a stranger. Even though you were willing to try and carry on I knew that it would only last so long, you'd become bored of fighting and want to just have a normal life. One without me. I was trying to save us both the heartache."

Aria took a deep breath and sat down the closest to the edge of the couch as she could. The anger had gone completely now but this hurt so much - this was a breakup it was going to end in heartache.

"You're giving up on us after all of this?" The girl asked as she met Ezra's eyes, hers quickly filling. Every day images of the pair together would come back to Aria and she knew that one day everything would piece together but it was too late. Ezra didn't want that. Her parents didn't want that. They all wanted a life where Aria had to forget everything that she had only just learnt to remember.

Ezra could almost feel his heart breaking, he had to push her away to save her. He wished he could say that to her, maybe then she'd understand about how he loves her now much more than he has ever done before. Maybe if she knew the truth she wouldn't be so upset, or maybe she would be able to forgive him and spend the rest of their days together just being happy. The feeling they both couldn't remember anymore.

"There is no happy ending for us Aria."

The words cut Aria deeper than a knife would. Yet Ezra wanted so badly to kiss her right now, to hold her and say that everything was going to be okay. That all this was a joke and he loved her so much that he'd never push her away.

But he couldn't.

Aria had nothing more to say, she had many thoughts but none of them mattered because this situation couldn't be turned back around. Ezra took a seat next to her, their legs touching but Aria couldn't look at him. She truthfully believed that when Ezra saw her he'd change his mind, they'd kiss and laugh about how stupid they both were. Laugh about how in love they were.

But they didn't.

Neither of the couple moved, they sat in silence because they both knew as soon as Aria walked out that door they would never see each other ever again. That thought could never be forgotten.

Finally Aria stood up and took in apartment 3B for the last time. Every single detail she tried to grasp so she could never forget how much Ezra actually did mean to her because it was going to be a long time before she could think about even getting over him. When she had finally finished she walked over to Ezra and forced a smile running her fingers over his cheek. Every single thing about him she was going to miss and she didn't even know if she would be able to make it out of the apartment alive, she'd been hurt before in the past but this was fatal. After this was over she may as well be taken back into the hospital with the pain that was going through her right now.

So softly she pressed her lips against the mans forehead as she stood on the top of her toes. Close to losing it Aria began to walk away from Ezra, opening up apartment 3B's door.

"Goodbye Ezra."

Ezra pulled out his phone and looked at the message one more time.
