It was only 6am yet Aria shot up in bed covered in tears and shaking like a leaf. The sudden movement forced Ezra to wake up, he wasn't fully awake so he hadn't worked out what was happening.
"Aria?" He asked looking towards the figure that sat beside him through half closed eyes. As soon as the chestnut haired girl faced him and he saw the tears stained on her cheeks and her dark red eyes he immediately sat up wrapping an arm around her frame.
"What's wrong?" The man asked as Aria placed her head on his shoulder. The girl didn't say anything at first, she just wanted the thoughts to go away, the nightmares. Ever since the accident she had never been able to sleep properly, usually she could contain it. She'd try and ignore it all yet recently it was just getting too much for her to be able to handle. One of Aria's downfalls was that she would bottle up all her emotions till breaking point where they'd all fly out in a spill of emotion that was usually very overdramatic.
"Come on, you can speak to me." Ezra said reassuringly rubbing his hand over the girls back.
"I just.." She paused wiping her eyes and looking down to avoid the embarrassment she was feeling. "I just still have nightmares. It's nothing. I can't get out of my head what happened that night of the crash, and of losing you."
Ezra didn't need to hear anymore before he pulled Aria to lie back down with him, holding her closely in his arms not letting her think about anything like that. More than anything he wanted to take away all the pain of this. He would take Aria's place any day, it killed him to know what she had been through. But still, he didn't want to push her into telling him how she was feeling all the time. She was strong enough to be able to speak to him when she felt like it. She was never a child in his eyes but since the accident it seemed like she had grown so much as a person, Ezra being selfish began to think if this meant that soon enough she would grow out of him. They had been going out for many years now, maybe Aria getting older would want something new. She hadn't had much chance to date other people but the thought of that Ezra would constantly try and ignore. After everything he couldn't let that happen but he knew he would do whatever it was to make Aria happy. The girl was lying still now and Ezra couldn't try to get rid of the thought of living life without her. Every breakup they'd been through before had killed him, he couldn't spend a few months away from Aria let alone the rest of his life.
"What are you thinking about?" Aria asked curiously only opening her eyes slightly.
"Nothing for you to worry about at all."
