I Need A Hero {Peter Quill}

Chapter 2

When Peter and Gwen, stepped out of the ship, they saw that the planet was pretty much abandoned. Peter took out his scanner and scanned the area in front of them. There used to be a city here. It also showed them the location of the treasure they were looking for. They both looked at each other for a moment and walked on forward. Once they made it inside a cave, they both pressed a finger behind their ear and their masks faded away. Gwen looked at Peter and smiled as she saw him put his headphones on and press play on his walkman. He then started to dance. Peter danced his way forward while Gwen followed close behind, her arms crossed over her chest and gawking at Peter like some love struck idiot. Oh, wait. She was. 'Like he could ever love me' Gwen thought to herself. When she saw Peter using one of the rat things as a microphone, she couldn't help but giggle. Peter noticed and held out his hand for Gwen. She couldn't help but take it. Peter spun her around and danced with her. Cause you're fine and you're mine, and you, look so divine. Peter mouthed this as he looked right at Gwen. Gwen blushed, bit her lip and let go of Peter's hand. This time Gwen was taking the lead. When Gwen reached a gap, she looked down below and then back at Peter. He was catching up but he was still dancing. Gwen looked at the gap again. She clicked the heels of her boots together which caused the built in rockets to start. She flew to the other side and clicked her heels again. She waited for Peter and when he made it across the gap, they both went forward to the set of doors. Peter unlocked it and they both stepped inside. Inside, was the orb that the two had been looking for. Peter got out a light and put it down.

"You stay here and keep watch. I'll get the orb" Peter said. Gwen nodded and Peter moved forward. As Peter retrieved the orb, Gwen turned around and saw men coming towards them. Gwen stepped backwards towards Peter.

"Peter" Gwen said. Peter turned around and when he saw the men with guns, he stepped in front of Gwen, wanting to protect her.

"Drop it" the dark skinned man, Korath said.

"Uh, hey" Peter said

"Drop it now!" Korath repeated. The men moved closer to them. Gwen balled her fists and she felt energy moving through her veins. She calmed herself down as it wasn't one of those cases where should have to use them. She would only use her powers if it was a life threatening situation and Peter wasn't around.

"Hey, cool man. No prob. No problem at all" Peter said, dropping the orb. He searched for Gwen's hand and when he found it, they both stepped back a bit. Korath grabbed the orb and held it up.

"How do you know about this?" he asked

"We don't even know what that is. You see, we're junkers and we were just checking stuff out. Right, Gwen?" Peter said

"It's true" Gwen said. One of the men poked her. She glared at the man.

"You two don't look like junkers. You two are wearing ravenger garb!" Korath said

"They're just outfits! Oww" Gwen said as she was poked again

"Ninja turtle, you better stop poking her" Peter warned

"What are your names!?" Korath asked, raising his voice

"My name is Peter Quill and this is my best friend-" Peter started

"Gwen Pierce" she finished for him.

"Move!" Korath demanded

"Why?" Peter asked

"Ronan may have questions for you both" Korath said

"Hey, you know what. There's another name you might know me by" Peter said. Gwen closed her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose. She knew exactly what Peter was going to say.

"Star-Lord" Peter said. 'There it is' Gwen thought to herself

"Who?" Korath asked

"Star-Lord, man. Legendary outlaw?" Peter said. Gwen put her hand on his upper arm, which told Peter that she was ready when ever he was. Peter quickly looked at Gwen and smirked at her. Peter kicked the glowing orb which he used as a light and it hit two of the men. Both Peter and Gwen took out their guns and shot at Korath. The orb rolled over to Gwen. She picked it up and stuffed it into the pocket of her jacket. She heard Korath behind her and she placed a hand on Peter's shoulder.

"I'll meet you on the ship, okay?" Gwen said

"Are you sure? I don't want you getting hurt" Peter said

"I'm a big girl. I can take care of myself" Gwen said. Peter smiled at her and he made his way to the ship, leaving Gwen to defend for herself. When Korath got up, he shot at Gwen but she pulled the bullet time move from The Matrix and Korath missed her. Gwen pressed her finger behind her ear and her mask appeared over her face. She clicked her heels together and the rockets went off. When she was outside the chamber, she clicked her heels again, turning the rockets off and she began to run to the Milano, where hopefully Peter was waiting for her. She saw more men and she felt the energy move through her veins. Since this was technically a life threatening situation and Peter wasn't around, she saw the perfect time to use her powers. She sent a blast of energy at the three men. Not enough to kill them but just enough to knock them back. Gwen would never use her powers to kill, only protect. When she was close enough to the ship, she jumped and landed on it. She jumped in and came face to face with Peter. She pressed her finger behind her ear, causing the mask to go away.

"Are you okay?" Peter couldn't help but ask. He loved her too much.

"I'm fine. Just fly" Gwen said. Peter sat on the captain's chair and Gwen sat on the passengers. Peter put the ship into flight. When Korath shot at them, he missed. The ship was now into full flight but a geyser hit them on the way. Gwen closed her eyes and held onto her chair tightly, while Peter was tossed and flying about the ship. Peter managed to pull a lever, which steadied the ship. Peter landed in Gwen's lap. He smirked at her and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Well that was fun" Peter said. Gwen smiled, closed her eyes and shook her head.

"Only you Peter Jason Quill" Gwen said
