Austin POV

I glared at her dad. The wedding had continued, without her. After the dance with the bride, I charged up to him. People kept getting in my way and I just pushed them along. When I got to him, I tapped him the shoulder. When he didn’t turn, I spun him around.

“How dare you!” I yell. Everyone turns their attention towards me. Good thing I was super tall. “First you abuse your daughter! Rape her! And now look at her! She’s so broken about her past that her fiancé broke up with her! She wakes up every night with nightmares of you coming to hit her! You also caused her miscarriage! What sick person kicks a 16 year old in the stomach while PREGNANT!” I spat. Everyone was giving him dirty looks. My cousin, Lydia, came over and put a hand on me.

“Austin. Stop it.”

“No!” I turn towards her. “He needs to know that what he did wasn’t okay! I don’t care if everybody sees him as a bitch! It’s because he is! And he wants her to forgive her. I’m surprised her own brother can’t comfort her. After all he is the one who left her with him!” I point my finger at her dad. I size myself up towards him and punch him in the nose.

“Did you know the woman you married years ago came back a couple days ago. Remember Vic? The guy who looked after Megan after she ran away from you. Remember his parents who were better parents than you and your ex-wife was? Well news flash, she raped Vic! Now he can’t even hear Megan’s name without cringing!” when he got up I swigged another punch at him. This knocked him to the ground.

“Austin stop!” Lydia pleaded. Her dad got up and punch me in the nose. I felt the blood rushing out. I tackled him to the ground and sat on his stomach. I punched him over and over.

“You bastard!” I screamed. I sounded like I was screaming a song, but no. I was really screaming at him. “You’re gonna die!”  I got up. “You like to abuse little girls?” I kicked him in the side. “You like to cause miscarriages? “ I kicked him in the stomach. “You like to rape people?” I kicked him in his balls. “You like ruining birthdays?” I pulled him by the collar and slapped him 13 times like he did Megan. “You like to cause memories, well here’s one.” I got in his bloody, bruised face. I touched my forehead to his and looked him dead in the eyes. His scared blue eyes versus my death looking brown, now black, ones. “If you ever come near Megan or hurt any of her friends, I will find you and the outcome won’t be as easy as this. You want to marry my cousin, fine. You hurt her and I swear to God I will kill you with my own bare hands. You have been warned.” I dropped him and walked out from the wedding.

“Megan!” I yelled. The wedding was by some woods. I knew there was a stream nearby. I could hear the water running. When I was a couple of yards deep, I hear sobbing coming from the water. I followed the noise and across the stream sat a Megan. Sitting on her legs, hands in her face, crying. Her hair was all over the place. Her hands were inked with black mascara. The black end of her dress has been caked with mud. Her shoes had been thrown to the side. When she saw me, she looked at me. I had her dad’s blood on my white shirt. My nose was dried with blood, but it huts like hell. My cheeks were flushed and my heartbeat was out of control. She dropped her head back down. I felt a drop of rain hit my head. When I looked up, it was pouring. No matter how hard it rain, Megan’s sobs were still audible. I stuck my hand out for her. She looked at it for quite a while. But when her hand touched mine, I pulled her into me and we collapsed on the ground. Both of us crying.

What seemed like forever, I decided to check if Megan was still alive. I opened the bathroom and there she was. Knees pulled up, hair blocking her face. I closed the door. But I heard a click and I opened it back up. She was sobbing, but that didn’t scare me.

What scared me was the gun she was holding to her head.

Her finger on the trigger.

He blue eyes meet mine and I jumped for the gun.

The trigger went off.
