*Emma's POV*

I put on a nice dress in preparation for dinner with my soon to be brother in law, growing extremely nervous as I got ready. What if he didn't approve? Or he didn't want me wearing their mother's ring? I mean, we got along great, but having me join their tiny family was something completely different. It'd been just the two of them for most of their lives and I was starting to feel like I was just some girl who fell flat on her ass into their life- literally. The more I thought the more nauseous I became until suddenly I had to run to the bathroom, losing every bit of food I'd had in the last 24 hours.

"Swan?" Killian said with concern as he knocked on the door. "You alright? What's wrong?"

"I'm fi-" I tried, gagging again and pressing my hand to my chest. Suddenly I felt his fingertips brush my neck, pulling my hair back and away from my face. "You shouldn't have to see this. It's disgusting."

"It's in the vows we'll be taking," he said, kissing the back of my neck softly. "In sickness and in health, remember?"

"Mhmm," I mumbled, heaving again at the mention of vows. He rubbed my back until there was nothing left to come up and I fell back against his chest, my eyes closed as I sat between his legs. He set a damp cloth across my forehead, holding me close and running his hand over my stomach as I leaned my head on his shoulder. "I'm sorry."

"Shh," he whispered, kissing my hair. "Just breathe, baby. It's okay. You're okay." After he was sure I was done getting sick he carefully picked me up, carrying me to the loveseat and laying me down carefully. He knelt down next to me, lifting my head to put a pillow under it. he went to stand up but I grabbed his hand, holding it tightly as mine shook. "What is it, love? I was just going to get you some water."

"What if he doesn't approve?" I asked quietly and he looked at me questioningly, tears gathering in my eyes as I continued. "Liam. What if he hates the idea of us getting married?"

"Oh, Emma, is that what made you so sick?" he asked, knowing I got sick when I worried and holding my hand in both of his. I was silent and he sighed, moving to sit on the edge of the sofa by my stomach and rubbing my side gently. "You know he loves you. Why would he have a problem with you becoming my wife?"

"I don't know," I avoided his eyes. "I just kind of... fell into your life. I'm a total mess. Having me around is one thing, but this would make me a permanent part of your family. And then you gave me your mother's ring, I just-"

"Love, stop," he cut me off, squeezing my hip. "Even if you are a mess sometimes, you're my mess, and I wouldn't have it any other way. And it's your ring now. I never want to see it off your finger. That's where it belongs. You've been my family for over three and a half years, this just makes it official for the world to know how much I love you."

There was a knock on the door and he got up, kissing my cheek quickly before going to open it. I sat up as Liam walked in with a bunch of food, setting it on the coffee table. He seemed to be in a foul mood, making my stomach lurch and I ran to the bathroom. Killian came in quickly this time, holding my hair and putting his other hand on my stomach. He kept his arms around me even as I stood and brushed my teeth, splashing water on my face.

"I'm a complete and total mess," I groaned, shaking my head. "I'm ruining all of this."

"My mess," he reminded me, turning my chin to kiss me softly. I instantly relaxed, unable to help myself as I turned and wrapped my arms around his neck. I felt him smile, pulling me against him as he deepened the kiss slowly. We stayed like that a long time, his hands on me and his ridiculously soft lips on mine calming me and letting my body finally relax. "There's my girl," He whispered, resting his forehead on mine and kissing me again sweetly.

"I'm sorry, I can't help it," I sighed but he just kissed me again. "You're just so important to me I don't to mess things up any more than I already have."

"The only way you could mess this up is if you said you didn't want to marry me," he smiled a bit. "But I'm quite hopeful you won't be doing that, so it'll be perfect."

"Thank you," I couldn't help but smile, leaning up on my toes to be closer to him and our lips were only millimeters apart. "I love you so so much, you know that?"

"I do actually," he smirked a bit, kissing only my top lip gently. "But I never get tired of hearing it."

"I love you, Killian Jones," I said softly, brushing his cheek and running my fingers through his hair. "I love you with all my heart and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

"So you finally popped the question, little brother?" Liam asked from the doorway, making us jump just as our lips brushed each other. "Took you long enough. You've had that damn ring in your pocket for almost three weeks."

"Liam," Killian groaned and I giggled, leaning my forehead on his chest as I blushed. "We were trying to have a moment together before we came out to tell you officially."

"Well sorry I was concerned about my future sister in law," he emphasized, laughing at us. "Is that what I interrupted this morning that made you hang up on me so quickly?"

"Yes," I smiled shyly, now completely red as I half hid in his chest.

"Well, congratulations," he chuckled. "Think you can bear to detach long enough for me to hug you, or should I just get used to hugging you as one person from now on?"

We apparently didn't answer fast enough so he just grabbed us both in a tight hug. I couldn't help but laugh, as did both of them. I heard the front door open and soon Ruby and Mary Margret were in the doorway. We looked up and Liam let us go, but Killian just held me tighter.

"Well thank god," Ruby said with relief. "I saw your promise ring on your dresser and I got worried. What's going on? You haven't taken that thing off since lover boy gave it to you."

My stomach lurched and I had to cover my mouth to keep from getting sick. Killian held me tighter, running his fingers through my hair as I forced myself to calm down and swallow the bile in my throat. I looked up at him and he nodded, giving me a gentle kiss to reassure me. I took a breath, holding tight to him as I looked over at my friends.

"We, uhm, we got engaged this morning," I said quietly with a small smile. "Killian and I are getting married."

There was so much squealing I thought my head would explode and the two of them practically attacked me. I lost Killian in the shuffle of their excitement as they moved us to the living room, my stomach starting to lurch as my anxiety rose again. Killian must have seen it on my face, soon interrupting them.

"Ladies, ladies," he said over them, taking my hand away as they gushed over my ring. "I'd like my fiancé back if you don't mind. It's been a long, exciting day, and I want nothing more than to hold her close and relax."

"Thank you," I whispered after he'd pulled me to the love seat and I cuddled into his embrace. He just hugged me tighter, kissing my forehead and putting his hand on mine as it rested over his heart. I looked up and he kissed me softy but passionately, his thumb running over my ring as if he was reassuring himself it was still there.

Ugh again with the rambling! Sorry!
