Chapter 16

Ethan's PoV

Rachael's sister has hidden themselves very well. Who would've thought to look in the woods underneath this square piece of concrete which is normally used by the gas people.

Once we had reached the woods and had found the square piece of concrete, it took us about 10minutes to life the concrete. I wonder how Violet and her minions lift it.

Bellow the concrete were ladder type steps that lead down to a tunnel. The tunnel smelt gruesome and beastly; death written in the scent. Rachael must be suffering if she's been having to smell this for nearly 3days. Wow I haven't seen her for nearly 3days. My heart aches from thinking that. It makes me feel more determined to find her.

There are 7 of us down here not including Rachael's protectors as well as 5 more warriors and a witch above the tunnels. We have also got a nurse from one of the local hospitals with us just in case Rachael is hurt badly. Luckily she's soulmates with a natural so it wasn't hard to explain what was going on. As we went deeper into the tunnels, it split into three different paths.

I instructed two warriors to go down the path to the left and the last three to go down the path to the right. I also told them that if they saw any hostages to let them out but not to let them escape and if they saw anyone they think works with Violet to either arrest or trap or to kill if it comes to that. I'm not one to want to kill someone but if they're harmful to the people I love it my friends I have to do what is best.
Once all the Warriors had gone, it left me Connor, Sam and two witches to go down the middle path. As we walked down this path, the scent of death got stronger and stronger.

I told Sam and Connor to be ready with their weapons which consisted of guns, knives dipped in gold and these grenades I had made filled with salt mixed with moonflower which is supposed to kill people but to supernatural creatures can only weaken for 4weeks or put into a coma. We carried on walking till we turned a corner. We all hid behind the corner since past it there was a door with two guards outside it. The door looked creepy but the guards either side of it looked pathetic. They weren't even protecting the door properly. Looks as if Violet just picked up a bunch of people from the streets.
"Why are those guys following the banshee's commands?" Whispered Sam.
"She's got them under her compulsion." I whispered back.
"So what do we do now Ethan?" Whisper-asked Connor.
"We need her to be weak enough for us to attack so since she has these people under her compulsion, if we hurt these guards enough that they're on the verge of dying, she will feel it." I replied quietly.
"How about we knock the one closest to us out so when the second one looks at his friend to see what has happened we stab him near his heart not close enough to kill him but close enough so he is on the verge of death." Whispered Connor.
Me and Sam nodded out heads in agreement.

I picked up a medium sized rock that was quite bumpy around the edges and there it using my naturals strength to throw it with power. It hit the guy in the side of his head near his temple making him throw his head to the side where he then hit the other side of his head on the wall; knocking him out. His friend rushed to his side calling his name trying to wake him up or looking for a sign of a response. I then signalled Connor to use the knife by pointing to my heart and then the guard that is still alive. Connor nodded his head whilst me and Sam waited till the guy was dead.

Connor went up to the guy and knelt so they were the same height. Then he tapped on the guy's shoulder. The guy had tears running down his face. Connor then offered the guy a hug his face showing sympathy. The guy went in or the hug and Connor stabbed him. See what I mean when I said the guards are pathetic. Now all we have to do is listen for the screams of Violet. She would be in pain since the guard is close to dying. Then the witches will cast two spells one to trap Violet and another to locate Rachael.

Ahhhhhh!!

The screams were closer than we thought. We opened the door which the guards were once either side of to see Violet holding her head in her hands screaming. I threw one of the knives that were covered in gold to her leg making her fall to the floor. When she looked up to see who did it, her face showed anger instead of pain. I then threw the grenade I had made on the way here and turned around so none of the content would land on me. We then heard the bang! Followed by more screaming. The witches took that as the signal to start the spell. Once they were done they told me that Violet will be trapped in this office till the next new moon which is in 4days then she will be trapped in this tunnel till the full moon after that for another 3days. Even after that she will still be too weak to try anything.

Next the witches did a locator spell to find Rachael using a drop of my blood due to the soulmate bond we have between us. Once they told me where she was I thanked them and left with Sam and Connor.

Soon enough we reached the cell where we were told Rachael was. Since Violet is trapped any compulsion she used to the people in the tunnels have worn off. Sam told everyone to get out and go home. Now no one guarded the cells but one. There was a guy outside Rachael's cell. "Didn't you hear what he said you can go home." Said Connor.
The guy didn't respond. Instead he tried to attack us; emphasis on the tried. He had gotten a gun out trying to shoot us. Is that the best weapon he could find? I used my naturals speed to run up to him and tackle him down. "Get the rope and tie him up. Let's get him back to the chain "house" for questioning." I said. As Sam and Connor did that, I followed the soulmate bond to find Rachael.

I said her chained up on the floor all battered and bruised. She looked exhausted and I could faintly smell deadly nightshade. They must have been tortured her with it. I walked up to her having the need to touch her. I gently stroked the bruise on her cheek. She must have got that for struggling. I then put on thick gloves and used a hair grip to unlock the locks on the chains. I then gently picked her up bridal style. The guy from before was gone and so were Sam and Connor. I continued walking the way I came. I then stopped when I felt Rachael move beneath me. Her eyes then fluttered open. Her eyes held confusion till they landed on me. Her dull blue eyes turned back to their normal blue-green colour and a small smile was placed on her face. I smiled back at her happy to finally have her back.

I continued walking through the tunnel and up the ladder steps still carrying Rachael. Once we got to the top, everyone rushed to my side. I placed her down and went towards my car to get her a drink. I walked back to her and handed her a bottle of water. She thanked me for the drink and before turning to her father giving him a hug. "Rachael my little girl I missed you so much." Steven said to her.
"I missed you too daddy." She replied.
She then turned and walked towards me. I pulled her into a hug. She then pulled back from the hug. She opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something but didn't know what to say.

Rachael's PoV

I walked up to Ethan and hugged him. I was going to say something but i couldn't think of a way to say thank you. I was completely lost for words. The word thank you didn't seem enough. So instead I placed both my hands on his cheeks and kissed him on the lips.
