Victoria's PoV (Rachael's mum)

This is all so sudden.

First I get a phone call from my daughter asking for me to come home. Once I reach home, she tells me she wants to leave.
Not for a couple of days or for a week but a month.

Then I ask her why and she replies with excuses. I know she isn't telling me the truth but I can't force it out of her. She needs to tell my herself.

I wonder why she's lying.

This is all so stressful.

"Is she still doing it?" Asked my husband and soulmate Steven as he walked into the kitchen the next morning.

"Yes. She's so determined about going." I replied.

"Right. Well it looks like I should be the one to get her to stay." He said.

"No!" I said grabbing his arm before he could walk away, "She needs time to think and I think she needs to experience what it's like to be away from your soulmate."

"Yeah I guess. She has been overwhelmed with everything to do with naturals as well as school. But I doubt she'll experience what it's like being away from her soulmate."

"She will." I replied.

"What do you mean?" He asked giving me a cute confused look.

"I've seen what Ethan and Rachael are like with each other. Although they are yet to complete the soulmate bond, they have something special." I said.

"Is this one of your motherly instinct things you always talk about?" He said.

"No. Well maybe." I replied.

Steven started chucking at my reply but I soon stopped the sounds coming out of his mouth when I heard the creaking of the stairs.

"So dear what been going on at work lately." I said loud enough for Rachael to hear.

"Wa." He replied with my hand still over his mouth.

Rachael is coming. I said through the mind connection we have.

Then I took my hand off his mouth and let him speak.

"Not much I think I'm just going to check on how everyone else is doing." He replied.

I'm going to have to tell all the adults at the chain house to not help anyone search for Rachael under any circumstances. He said.

Why? I asked turning to the stove to bring out a pan.

You know she wouldn't want anyone to force her to come back. Especially since she told you not to tell anyone apart from me. So I'll just tell everyone not to bother Rachael. He replied.

In your 'I'm in charge' voice. I said mockingly.

Yes. He said giving me a kiss on the cheek just as Rachael walked in.

"All packed?" I asked turning away from the scrambled eggs I was cooking.

"Yup." She replied before taking a seat on one of the bar stools.
