Oh...I am not a wimp

"Bye sweetie, remember I taking you out of school early," my dad said reminding me, as he dropped me off.

"Okay," I said, getting out of the car and shutting the door.

I tugged on my orange beanie looking around to see if I could find Millie anywhere. A loud honk made me jump as it came right next to me. I turned around and saw a car next to me.

Mentally slapping myself on the forehead, ugh I'm so stupid. Getting out of the parking lot and moving out if the cars way I noticed it was Logan from lunch.

Trust me it wasn't hard to remember his name, I only knew him and Millie after all, and there was the fact that he was in my mind last night.

I couldn't help but to wonder what made him so bad. I mean jail? Surely Millie must over exaggerated that.

"What did I tell you yesterday!" Millie said , scolding me with her face.

I shrugged "Sorry I zoned out," I said shrugging and following her to her locker.

"Hey guys," Millie said to the group of people.

"Hey," some of them replied back.

"This is my new friend Danielle, yesterday was her first day here," Millie said informing them.

"I'm John," a guy said he was tall and he had his head shaved. He must have played a sport from his letter man jacket that was on him.

"So what school did you transfer from?" he asked.

"Lakewood high school," I stated.

He gave me a curious look "Where's that I haven't heard of it," he said.

"It's in Colorado," I replied.

"Wow so you moved. Why did you decided to move to New York?" He asked me.

I get that John was curious because I'm new, but his questions were really getting annoying "My parents got a divorce, so here I am," I said frowning slightly.

"I'm sorry," he said.

I shrugged "Anyways welcome to Glenn high," he said smiling.

I returned the smile "Thanks," I said.

"Hey you're the girl who sat with Logan Foster yesterday," a girl said.

Millie have me a questioning look "Who?" Millie asked the blond girl.

"Logan Foster," she stated again "I can't believe you. You have some balls girl," she said smiling and shaking me.

"Um thank you?" I questioned.

"Ashley what are you talking about?" Millie asked her.

"Yesterday at lunch she went up to Logan Foster's table and sat down," she said.

Did I do something wrong? I was just eating. I mean all the other tables had more thank three people there. I didn't really want to socialize a lot, which was weird because I was trying to talk to Logan. I mean he was sitting alone I thought that maybe I was helping him.

"Well what happened?" Millie asked anticipated she was even jumping slightly.

Ashley looked at her "Get this. Nothing happened," she said.

Well what did they thing was going to happen. I mean I sat down right?

Millie seemed to think that other stuff had happened though, because she turned to me "What happened at lunch while you were sitting with Logan Foster?" She asked me.

I gave her a questioning look "Nothing I ate lunch," I said.

"Wow I can't believe this," she said.

"What?" I asked her.

"I know," Ashley said.

"What?" I asked again.

"I'm surprised too," John said speaking for the first time since this conversation.

"Will someone please tell me what's going on," I said in a demanding tone more than asking.

Before anyone could answer my question the bell rang. Sighing I went to my first period with Millie sitting down in our seats.

"So can you please explain to me what the big deal is," I said.

"Okay so you know that Logan Foster is bad. Well everyone in the school is scared of him except for a few of his friends, which are also bad by the way," she said.

"Wait if he has friends why was he sitting alone then?" I asked her.

She shrugged "they ditch pretty often. Anyways he basically has two friends that he actually hangs out with and well I think you get the rest," she said.

I stared at her blankly "No I don't get the rest!" I said impatiently.

"Well Logan Foster isn't exactly a people's person. So anytime someone he doesn't know or like comes up to him and try's to talk to him. He blows them off. He will usually make a big scene about it. He might diss the person and maybe throw in a few punches. He's been in so many fights I'm surprised he hasn't been kicked out of school yet, anyways that's why people stay away from him," she said.

Was that it? You have to be kidding me right? "I don't understand what the big deal is then," I said.

Millie have off a big dramatic sigh "He didn't do anything. That means that he was either one in an impossibly good mood or two he at least was somewhat interested in you," she said.

"Oh...Kay?" I responded. I didn't really know what to say.

"That's why today you are going to sit with him again," she said smiling.

I have her a look "What no way. I only sat there because I thought he had no friends. I didn't know he was dangerous, I'm not going to risk my life for your personal entertainment," I said.

"Oh come on don't be such a wimp," she said.

Oh I am not a wimp.

The bell rang and we took our separate ways. It took me a while to find my class, but luckily I got there before the bell rang which saved me from embarrassment.

The lesson went on with us taking notes when all the sudden the door was opened.

"Ah Mr. Foster what brings you to my class so late?" The teacher asked.

Logan ignored him and strolled down to his seat which was next to me. You could tell that he captured the attention if many girls, because once that door opened their heads snapped towards it. Almost like they were expecting him to be late, but when started thinking about it they were kind if preparing themselves for him. It was simple stuff like putting on lip gloss, or checking their foundation and eye makeup.

It was clear Logan was wanted my many girls. He had the whole thing going for him. He was tall, had nice hair, a strong jaw line and facial features, his lips were perfect, unique green eyes, and he is strong and muscular.

He's a dangerous bad boy and I've never met one of those before.

I couldn't help but to wonder what made him so bad though. Since I was here he hasn't done one bad thing. I can't help but to think that maybe people are over exaggerating how bad he really is.

Glancing over at him I did see the he had a couple of tattoos on his upper arm close to his shoulder. Okay, so maybe he could be bad, but tattoos don't mean anything do they?

Switching my attention for Logan, who had his head down, I started focusing in the actual discussion.

The bell rang later and I went to my next class only to be in there a few minutes when someone came in telling the teacher that I was leaving. I gathered my things and started walking to the office when I went in there I noticed Logan in hand cuffs sitting in a chair with a police scolding him.

"Fireworks on the roof! Your lucky you didn't set the school on fire," he said scolding him some more.

"Hey Danielle your father is waiting for you in the parking lot. You can leave," the lady at the desk said informing me.

"Ok have a good day," I said leaving, but not before making eye contact with Logan.

I hopped into the car "Are you nervous?" dad asked.

I shrugged "Not really, it won't be my last time going to the doctor." I replied.

Dad chuckled "Yeah. Well you know that I will do whatever I can to get you treatment and be healthy right?" he asked me.

Of course I know that I mean my we moved from Colorado to New York because my old doctor suggested it. I knew that there was nothing that my dad wouldn't do to make sure that I am healthy.

"Yes dad I know," I said.

"So tell me how was your half a day of school?" he asked.

"Ehh," I replied.

"Ehh? What's ehh mean?" he asked mocking me.

"Ehh," I replied making a face and skating my hand.

Once we got to the hospital we checked in and signed some papers. Then we were directed to a room a nurse came in and have me a gown to change into. I walked into the bathroom and changed into it not taking off my beanie of course.

We waited for about five minutes until the doctor showed up. "Hello you must be Danielle," he said looking at me.

I nodded shaking his hand. "And you must be the dad," he said looking at my dad and shaking his hand.

"Well I am doctor Collins and I will be your main doctor through all the future treatments that you go through, but first I'm just going to do a check up," he said.

I made me lie down and he moved my arms and legs to make sure my joints were working correctly.

"I see you have quit a few bruises, do you know what you got them from?" he asked pointing to the purple splotches on my arm.

I nodded "I got them from playing dodge ball, in P.E. class," I said.

"You're in gym class?" he asked.

"Yes sir," I answered, while he did a few more tests.

"Okay I'm going to take your blood now?" he said getting a needle, cleaning wipe, and rubber band.

"Oh no. I don't do needles," I said folding my arms letting him know that those were not coming near me.

"It's just like doing heroin," he said.

My jaw dropped did he just? "Which is why I don't do it," I said. "Or any drugs for that matter," I added for my dad's benefit, I didn't do drugs though.

"You're going to have to get it done so you might as well get it over with now than later," he said.

Sighing I unfolded my arm holding it out. I closed my eyes as he counted to three, but he stuck the needle in at two. I opened my eyes and watched him drain blood from me into a tube. Just when I thought he was done he did two more tubes having a total of three filled with my blood.

When he was done he out a band-aid over it and gave me a sucker. "You did good for someone who doesn't like shots," he said.

"Thank you, but next time don't pull that counting trick on me because I'm going to remember it," I replied.

He laughed "Okay. Well my only main concern right now is that you get out of gym class. It's not the healthiest thing for you right now, if you can't get out I can write you a note or go talk to your gym teacher directly," he said.

"No thanks I think a note will be fine," I said quickly.

"Okay well go and change while I write the note," he said.

Getting up and walking to the bathroom I changed. It was nice of doctor Collins to offer to talk to the gym teacher but I didn't need it. Mostly because I didn't want people getting suspicious I might be able to tolerate this school.

Walking out I then gathered my backpack and Dr. Collins smiled giving me the doctors note. My dad offered to carry my backpack but I refused to give it to him. I think he thought that I was weak because of the bruises. I'm not weak I just bruise easily.

"I like him, I feel like he's going to take good care of you. I feel safe letting him be your doctor," dad said.

"Me too," I said.
